DeleteWho eats cream cheese on Pesach , only goyim & litvaks
ReplyDeleteBut why are you repeating yourself?
DeleteAnyway, there are none of those in Lakewood.
What a brainless comment!
DeletePrizes and raffles for boys who make kabalos on technology devices and videos.
DeleteThat is molestation! Stop forcing bochurim to 'make kabalos'! It is wrong, and those who promote this stuff are removing children from their parents' influence and trying to shove them into the public education system. This causes all kinds of problems. Teach them a balanced curriculum. But don't guilt them into 'making kabalos'.
I am Chasidish and I and my children eat cream cheese on Pesach.
DeleteOnly water is Gebroktz. It is a mefurash Shulchan Aruch Harav.
Many cream cheeses have water even when not listed in the ingredients.
DeleteThat's not enough to make it Gebroktz
DeleteYou must be a chosid shotah!
ReplyDelete@unknowns 6:50. Your comment was not clear. Who is a Chasid Shotah and why?
DeleteNo cream cheese to shmeer on my machine Matzah? Givalt, a gazairah worse than covid!
ReplyDeleteSince your message implies that you're making fun of people that eat machine Matza, although most bnei Torah do not, it would be worthwhile for you know that many great Poskim were Makpid to eat Davka machine Matza as many problems with hand Watzat can be avoided that way.
DeleteJust so you know some things before you post comments out of boredom.
And whoever says cream cheese and Matza is Gebroks it seems does not know what Gebroks means.
The same gedolim that were makpid to eat maching matza, would hold that cream cheese on matza is not gebrokts. For many others, machine matza is not preferred, and cream cheese on matza is to be considered gebrokts. Why do people think only their way is the correct way?
DeletePlease explain how cream cheese can be Gebroks.
DeleteGebroktz means water and Matza because of the Chashash of unbaked flour that may become leavened.
DeleteI don't know of a single opinion in the Torah that cream cheese can make the flour Chametz especially not if not hot. Even if it may or may not have water in the ingredients too.
One may refrain from eating whatever they choose but that doesn't make it Gebroktz just like garlic is not Gebroktz.
@anonymous 6:28. First woe all no-one is forcing anyone to do anything. Second of all making Kabolos is a good thing. Third of all your so called balanced approach is the modox way of being matir everything. Don't be stupid.
ReplyDelete1. Bullying children, or 'persuading' them, is a form of force. They haven't been taught yet how destructive these forces are, and they are dressed up as frumkeit.
Delete2. Making personal Kabbalos, for adults who have enough self-awareness to know what it is they are lacking, may be a good thing. Not for young children. They should keep Halacha and learn properly, nothing else.
3. If you honestly think that balance is a bad thing, you are seriously beyond help. No, not everything is muttar, but children need to know the balance between Halachos, Chumros and Minhagim. Otherwise you end up just as bad as modox - chassidish.
1- you're assuming parents don't teach their children the dangers of technology. I'm happy I'm not part of your community if you're right about that. But either way every normal education by now includes that the raffles are all after that fact.
Delete2 - yes we do encourage our youth to take upon themselves good Kabalos.
3 - I was saying that using that excuse of being balanced is the foundation of all Prikas Ol. To extend it and read it the way you did is not correct havana
@4:16 and 6:04 Please keep your stupid comments to yourself. This should have been taught to you in Kindergarten already. It's pretty embarrassing that such comments are posted here.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyable to have such comments here but they should be forced to post with names.
DeleteHelps expose the asinine
The lubab that eats his Matzah with cream cheese because it is not water is a chosid shoteh
ReplyDeleteHe is obviously not Lubavich if he calls it Shulchan Aruch Harav. They have a different term for it they call it the Alte Rebbe.
DeleteSecond you didn't explain why he is considered a Chosid Shota. Actually from your comment it seems that you're a Shota. I'm sorry for the sharp words but smart people try make sense when they talk or write.
So there are two things you showed off that you don't know what they mean: Gebroks and Chasid Shota.
DeleteIn terms of Shoprite, Saker Shoprites are owned by a non-Jew so anything that was in their stores since before Pesach is not a problem (not even sold, just owned by a non-Jew) however the Shoprite cooperative has many Jewish owners and anything that came from the collective warehouse over Pesach could be a problem (it was sold, but the stores/owners continue to do business and more comes in, as well). The heimish companies deliver directly to each store (not the cooperative) so heimish chometz was definitely owned by a non-Jew all of Pesach. For anything else you are relying on whoever says it was in the store before Pesach (many years the signs have not been signed, or do not identify who is guaranteeing it).
ReplyDeleteיוצא שכרו בהפסדו. Taking a hidur to only buy what was owned by a non jew, which the frum stores can benefit from immensely. Speak to your LOR as to the preferred method.
DeleteSelling chometz is a kulah (or at least not the ideal solution). It is meant to avoid major losses that can’t be avoided. (When frum stores bring in extra chometz before Pesach because “better we should sell it then have to worry about if the distributor did” I don’t think that’s unavoidable.) We don’t sell real chametz and when we asked we were told it’s better not to buy sold chametz if it can be avoided.
DeleteNo need to eat shmura except at Seder.
ReplyDeleteAnd Israeli whet does not need shmura, it doesn't rain in the summer over there.
Why do you spew such idiocrasy? While you may be correct according to many, there are many that disagree with you. The point of krias yam suf was that even though every tribe had their own path, they were able to see other path's as well. You thinking that your way is the only way, and your wholesale criticism of others is wrong.
DeleteThere is no shita at all that a person must eat Shmura Matzah any other time besides at the Seder. The splitting of the Yam Suf did not change that.
DeleteCan anyone state what's with shop rite in Brick or Manchester?
ReplyDeleteVery interesting observation.
ReplyDeleteThis conversation about cream cheese was basically started by a comment that stated that who eats cream cheese on Pesach only Goyim and Litvaks (!). When one quoted a clear source that only water as in water makes Gebroktz then that commenters is called a Chasid Shota and a Lubab. But the one that "can't hear another way" is the one that quoted a source.
Everyone is asked to please take a chill. Thank you!
