A string of crimes took place on erev  shabbos and continued Friday night all connected to one individual  who terrorized the Lakewood and Jackson orthodox  communities. 4 people all orthodox Jews were hospitalized as a result of the  crimes which included a stabbing and 2 who were run over by the car. Two remain in critical condition  The suspect has been arrested and charged. The ADL said the suspect is  “said to have made antisemitic remarks upon arrest,”.

Please daven for Moshe Yigal ben Bruriah, one of the victims who needs a refuah sheleimah.

It started  with a carjacking on erev shabbos at Pine and MLK at 1:15 pm after an attempted  car Jacking  20 minutes  earlier  on Arlington  Ave when the suspect beat a younger man and stole his car. 5 hours later he drove back into Lakewood with the stolen car a camry and went  on a crime spree stabbing and running  people over in the area of Central  Ave and Pine circle and Carlton. He also tried to abduct a bachur. He then went into Jackson and attempted to run people over on Galassi court who were on the way back from davening sending a victim to the hospital  with broken bones. Police reportedly  tracked him down in Manchester  after his car tires were flat and he asked someone to help him report's said that he put on Jacket that was was found in the car. Askanim set up a command center Friday night to monitor  the situation as it was unfolding. Messages were sent out for people to only walk in groups and not be alone until it was safe to do  so. Several rabbonim spoke about it on shabbos to give chiizuk as one of the victims run over is a rebbe in the kehila and a yeshiva bachur was run over and then stabbed.

He got out of the car and tried changing the tire himself (guess chaverim were closed for shabbos).  NJ.com- Ocean County man faces attempted murder and other charges after detectives say he carjacked a vehicle, struck two pedestrians with it and stabbed a man in the chest, authorities said Saturday.

Dion Marsh, 27, of Manchester Township, is charged with three counts of attempted murder, weapons possession and three counts of bias intimidation for a series of violent crimes that occurred Friday afternoon in Lakewood, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.

Billhimer said the suspect approached a 2016 Toyota Camry about 1:15 p.m. in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Pine Street, assaulted the driver and fled in his vehicle.

About 6 p.m., a pedestrian was struck in the area of Central Avenue and Carlton Avenue and less than an hour later a man was stabbed near Pine Circle Drive and Lakewood New Egypt Road, Billhimer said.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, while the stabbing victim was hospitalized in critical but stable condition, the prosecutor said.

About 8:20 p.m., the same carjacked Camry struck a pedestrian in the area of Galassi Court in Jackson Township, Billhimer said. The victim was taken to a local hospital in critical but stable condition, Billhimer said.

Marsh was later arrested at his home in Manchester Township and held in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing, according to Billhimer.

“Our investigation reveals that these criminal acts were committed throughout the day yesterday into the early evening and that Marsh was acting alone and not in concert with anyone else,” Billhimer said in a statement.

Billhimer said the case was investigated by prosecutor’s office, local police and state police, along with agents from the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, and the New Jersey Department of Homeland Security and Preparedness.

Gov. Phil Murphy issued a statement in response to the crime spree on Saturday.

“I applaud the efforts of law enforcement in Lakewood and Ocean County for swiftly apprehending the individual believed to have committed a series of serious criminal acts last night, including multiple violent offenses. Tammy and I pray for the full recovery of all victims. The safety of our communities, and notably our communities of faith, is not only a paramount concern but among my highest priorities. We will continue to partner with all who share this commitment so no resident ever needs to live in fear,” the governor said.

  2. Failure of the Lakewood police department. When there was a cracking they should have put out an all calls bulletin to find the guy and car. 5 hours later he stabbed someone. Lets not sugar coat it.

  10. Also the community should have been notified by the police and hatzolah of the danger while the terrorist was on the loose. Now they are making statements to their friendly media

  12. Lakewood police should just be ther for photo ops. Thats what they are best at. It's about time for the state or county to take over the incompetent police department. Daily serious accidents, car jackings, daytime robberies, stabbings... What more do we need till we wake up?????

  14. Very scary to note that this originally started at 1:15 p.m. until the next altercation on Central at 6 where was he in all that time to go from MLK to Central doesn't take 5 hours and then from Central at 6 To galassi at 7:30 where was he in all those hours . was there other crimes committed that we don't know about he wasn't driving on the local streets with that many hours Let's investigate where he was in all that time. And noone saw him. Something in this doesn't make sense. Was it just photo op.

  15. Why is no one talking about the armed home invasion today? That person hasn't been caught yet!

  16. Putting it out there. The local media which claims to represent the public threw the Howell police under the bus when they were doing what they should be doing- protecting the public from a danger....
But yet, they peddle how Lakewood police did an amazing job.

They peddle how Howell police has is politics but fail for mention that Lakewoods police of chief was reprimanded by the state board.... Are we living in a oilam hafuch (backwards world)
If this happened in Jackson or toms river TLS would be bashing the police how's it's possible to let this terrorist run lose for 6 hours and it's because they are antisemitic....
Wake up smell the coffee. Enough.

    1. They represent no one but themselves sick how they tried to use the story for clickbate with "exclusive" stories such as a statement by hatzolah.
There is competition and the news is all about how great the websites are by getting exclusive stories and first reporting on news that is already public.
