    1. Maybe there are other reasons for why hashem is doing this, and your teshuva is not it. Also, as R' Levi Yitzchak M'Barditshev famously said, you can't fix the world, you can only hope to fix yourself.
I suggest you begin by no longer browsing the internet.

    3. We are in danger in large part because too many people in our community do not wear masks. We cannot go to shul and put ourselves at risk by our own family members who meet with other people in our community. Had they gone into stores in other towns, gone to school in other towns, the risk would be less.

  3. What happened in 1939? Pearl Harbor was not until December of 1941 and we were ready, not asleep at the wheel. Just not knowing where the Japs would hit. My parents remember it but were not so taken back. It was expected.

  4. As for the barbarians overseas, we though we were insulated. Nobody expected more out of them. Roosevelt made his quarantine speech in 1937, condemning the Germans, but we were all told to remain neutral. You were not allowed to advocate going to war with the behamas and thugs in Europe as most of the country was still dismayed over WWI and thinkin the oceans will protect us. So I do not think the problem of 1939 was not knowing what was happening, just a problem of thinking we were safe here and not wanting to get involve in stinkin Europe.
