Matzav.com- With great sadness to report the petirah of Rav Elya Meir Sorotzkin zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Tiferes Boruch of Springfield/Plainfield The rosh yeshiva battled illness for the last period and a name, Refoel, had been added. He was niftar this afternoon, Erev Shabbos.
Rav Sorotzkin was a son of Rav Boruch Sorotzkin zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Telshe Yeshiva in Cleveland, and a son-in-law of Rav Shmuel Berenbaum zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Mirrer Yeshiva in Brooklyn.
Levayah details will be posted once they are finalized.
He was niftar within the shloshim of his brother in law Harav Yaakov Busel zatzal.
Gevald! My son's R"Y!! He mamesh was a father to every talmid. His devotion was endless. With his last kochos he gave shiur from his hospital bed. What a devastating loss for klal yisroel

ReplyDeleteHe had yena machlah for a number of years and never missed a shiur. He wasn't niftar from that, he was niftar from corona.
