  1. They raised taxes this year on poor struggling homeowners but can afford to hand out tax abatements like lollypops to their buddies

  2. What’s with all these “private” sales? How much money are the taxpayers losing? Would love to know how large the lot was and how small the private purchase was for. Hefkervelt please post the answers. Thanks.

  3. Chateau grand plaza at 939 River Avenue

    Is that the new gigantic shopping plaza with not enough parking ultra narrow parking spaces and no sidewalks?

My guess is hes suffering financially , do the numbers cost of lot plus cost of construction vs rental income I don't think was a great investment , rental income is not high in the lakewood market because of all the basements , now if all the homes with basements would be assessed as a 2 family home that may help tax deficit more then this abatement.

    If you see a fancy building? Even if its occupied dosent mean owner making money usually vice versa , rents did rise recently in Lakewood but this building was full before rents rose i would assume ownera losing money and tax abatement was to help from defaulting
