They raised taxes this year on poor struggling homeowners but can afford to hand out tax abatements like lollypops to their buddies

ReplyDeleteMy guess is hes suffering financially , do the numbers cost of lot plus cost of construction vs rental income I don't think was a great investment , rental income is not high in the lakewood market because of all the basements , now if all the homes with basements would be assessed as a 2 family home that may help tax deficit more then this abatement.
ReplyDeleteIf you see a fancy building? Even if its occupied dosent mean owner making money usually vice versa , rents did rise recently in Lakewood but this building was full before rents rose i would assume ownera losing money and tax abatement was to help from defaulting
It's not the taxpayers job to bail out a bad investment
