-The Story Behind 13 Rabbanim’s Historic Letter of Appreciation to President Trump
Hamodia: Margaretten chose not to publicize the letter. “The motivation behind this was for the rabbanim to show their gratitude, and that of the Jewish community, to President Trump. I had not intended this for any sort of publicity or pre-election endorsement purposes.

It was not until Motzoei Shabbos, October 24, when Mishpacha Magazine obtained a copy of the letter from a person close to the Trump Administration and tweeted it, that this unprecedented letter became public, and was reported widely across both Jewish and general media. Some people have expressed unhappiness that the letter was made public. Margaretten says he had decided not to speak about the letter until this week, when it made national news, and to correct any misconceptions surrounding it.

“While some have reported the purpose of this letter as a pre-election endorsement, that is fake news,” says Margaretten. “This letter was simply signed as an expression of thanks to a president who has been such a great friend to our community.”

  2. What is igud horiom? What is this about?

  3. It is an organization mostly for parents who fight their way into schools that really don't want them ,and then start complaining about the policies of the school that they fought to get into .

    2. Especially if the coal miners threaten to strike precisely over the toxic gasses. Imagine that!

    3. Its an organization of parents who wish to stop being bullied by the schools that they patronize & support. Since parents are the customers of the schools, school policies regarding Covid & other matters should be in their best interests instead of so called "askanim".

    4. I have never heard of a business where 90 per cent of the customers pay about 70 per cent of the cost of the products they are patronizing. In my children's very yeshivishe school , almost nobody pays the true cost ,including me. So I don't consider myself as supporting a school ,the school is really supporting me.

    5. Wow that must be most of Lakewood that sends to schools that dont want them! Almost everyone I know is fed up with rosh mosdos one way or the other, even more recently over the tuition ripoff...

    6. "the school is really supporting me..."
      Naive, typical kool aid.
What else did the Rosh Mosed tell you?
      That everyone loves him?

  5. The vast majority of parents in most schools are on the same page as the hanhala . Even when they have questions or concerns ,they resolve them in a fine and eidel way. There is always a vocal minority that usually never belonged in the school in the first place ,that doesn't agree with the school policies . Those people have the right to send their children to a school that is more aligned with their beliefs ,rather than always disagreeing with the schools that they fought their way into . As you can see there are 40 boys elementary, 30 girls elementary, 100 Mesivtas etc so there is a variety for everybody .

    1. The Igud Horim is not about the vocal minority. Its about the the majority who are bothered that the hanhalas hamosdos are being bullied by the askanim

    2. Im not sure where you get your info from. I happen to be very friendly with the administrator of my child's school . He told me that no askanim bullied the school. The askanim clearly stated that all decisions were up to the schools. They were simply relaying a message from the govt authorities. The message was, that we will not treat your school like they are being treated in NY and we will work with you during these difficult times of big positivity rates. But we are asking you to pass the message on to the schools that we want them to do some kind of testing to help the health Dept. End of message. With a clear disclaimer that every Mosad should make their own decisions . Most mosdos looked at what is going on in NYC and decided that its a small price to pay to keep our Mosdos Hatorah open . You can disagree if you like but spreading this lie about being bullied by askonim is just awful lies. If you disagree with your school , you may do that ,but don't lie to spread your agenda. I for one am very happy to test my child maybe once every few months ,in order to stay on good terms and keep my kids in school. You can disagree.

    3. Not true. They tried bullying but got called out so you are now singing a different tune to sound more tolerant.

    4. The anti-askanim keyboard warriors here have one common thread; they are not suggesting anything constructive. They attack nameless askanim, yet produce no ideas of how to deal with the issue. They are willing to be moiser nefesh, someone elses nefesh, to make a statement to the governor, ignoring the fact that they have no ammunition against the governor. Maybe they suggest using our children as cannon fodder in their fight for freedom.
When they were proven wrong, as the increased testing did not lead to an increase in cases or school closings, they started to create more exotic theories, still with no actual plan.
Now, they came up with something. They can meet in the Yeshiva dining room on leil shishi to discuss how terrible these nameless askanim are.
Remember, so far their predictions have been shown to be nonsense. They have no clue as to what is happening and what to do, and are promoting chaos instead of solutions.

    5. The anti askanim warriors extend well beyond the keyboard. They are the towns people who are fed up by self appointed individuals who tell the administration that they represent the people of Lakewood.
The numbers did not go down because of testing. It went down because the olam was smart and did not test but mainly because the virus peaked rosh hashana time 3 weeks before the campaign to test.
To suggest that no one is offering anything constructive is moot because the same argument can be made that what others are doing is more destructive and it would be better to let things play out. Which is exactly what happened.
The numbers went down not because of askanim or Murphy.

As far as schools staying open who said that was the right decision at the time.

Aa to dealing with the gov there were law suits filed which were effective.
The askanim like taking credit for things that have nothing to do with their actions but are quick to dismiss any criticism from concerned parents

    6. The oilam was smart..... Thats why thousands of people tested, and the cases did not go up. You predicted that they would, and that they would cause the governor to close down the schools, but it didnt.
I dont know who the askanim are, and I certainly didnt speak to them. But I saw what you chaos mongers have been posting here and elsewhere, and NOT ONE prediction has come true. From the quarantine hotels to the lawsuits and shutdowns. So far the town is doing better since we have an Igud Horabbonim, although I dont know the politics behind it.

Where did you get your data from? How do you know how many tested? Maybe just a few hundred tested and thousands chose not to test?

      Delete
    8. 3:29

We did suggest something constructive and that was - that no one should test and then there wont be any positive cases and accordingly nothing would get shut down.

How do you know we were proven wrong? Because, how many actually tested and how many did not test? Maybe there was only a slight increase in testing and thats why there wasn't an increase in cases but had many tested there would have been a significant increase in cases?

  6. These parents did not force themselves into the schools. The lies spread about these sincere parents just shows how low the bully askanim will go to discredit any opposition to their power. Mandatory testing of kids in school is something a parent has every right to be concerned about. Self appointed askanim gloating from their connections with govt officials have absolutely no say in chinuch or medical policy of children and adults.

The fear mongering and bully tactics is the only way for them to implement policy and that has to stop.
The same playbook was used to shutdown porch minyanim which was proven to be a big lie that was pushed on the rabbonim by the same askanim. They also label any opposition as conspiracy theorists in an attempt to paint everyone with a brush aa being a looney bin. They have no argument when they are faces with real facts and questions.

  8. There is no lakewood model. The virus attacked lakewood and than after a few weeks the numbers went down. Nothing to do with testing or askanim or politicians. Never forget how many thousands died because murphy forced covid patients into nursing homes.
