  3. A yid who claims himself to rejoice with the torah and its values would never talk that way about another jew , you may not agree with masking but somone who does dosent mean hes less of a torah jew .

  4. Thats a bit harsh . Nobody is a Novi . To call somebody who wants to be machmir on sofek pikuach nefesh , a hater of Torah , would probably be condemmed by everybody ,no matter their opinion on how stringent to be . Are you saying that if it had turned out to be the opposite and many people got sick ch"v , then you would be considered a hater of Jewish lives ?

  6. It goes against our Hashkafa and Emuna that Torah can harm. To the contrary, "Ein Shmirah Ka'torah".

Thus, the haters of Torah who sought to downplay Simchas Torah were proven wrong, because true lovers of Torah who believe that Torah protects were confident that rejoicing with the Torah CANNOT lead to an uptick and cause harm

    1. Your hashkafa is based on 100% pure amaratzus without an ounce of real Torah knowledge. And it flies in the face of the hashkafa of gedolei olam for doros. HKBH should help that you should be enlightened by the real ohr haTorah, not by whatever falshkeit you are spending your days with.

Explain Reb Chaim who is pushing for the schools to re open in Israel in defiance of the Israeli health department. On what basis is he taking that risk if not that Torah is Shmirah

And hu gufa rayah, did R Chaim tell everyone to ignore all precautions in order to dance on simchas torah? Of course not.

"""During the Yom Kippur War, the army called up reserve soldiers to defend the country against the surprise Arab attack. Heavy fighting continued in the Golan Heights and the Sinai Desert for several weeks, through the holiday of Succoth.

Immediately following Succoth is a holiday of exuberant joy - Simchat Torah, when it is customary to celebrate the completion of reading the Torah with singing and dancing. During the war, however, many felt that it was improper to rejoice while the soldiers were fighting on the battlefield. Some of the yeshiva students also felt that public displays of joy were inappropriate.

But Rav Tzvi Yehudah was adamant: “We will teach the people to rejoice!”

The rabbi, accompanied by a small band of students, danced on Simchat Torah morning in the streets of Jerusalem, as they made their way to the home of the Chief Rabbi. A few of the synagogue members also joined the yeshiva students, including my father.

When they reached King George Street, a passerby began to shout at them. “How dare you dance?” The man pointed an accusatory finger at the group. “The whole country is fighting for its life in this war, and you dance? Have you no shame?!”

Rav Tzvi Yehudah stopped and turned to him. “Why are you upset? Look at this Jew who is dancing with me” - and here he indicated my father. “His four sons are all currently fighting at various fronts. And yet he dances and rejoices in the simchah of the Torah. You should also come and dance with us!”

At the very time that my father was dancing with Rav Tzvi Yehudah in Jerusalem, I was stationed on Mount Hermon in the Golan Heights with my brother Rabbi Yaakov Ariel [now Chief Rabbi of the city of Ramat Gan]. We were in grave danger, sprawled out on the ground while enemy shells whistled above us, exploding to our right and to our left.

Who knows? Perhaps it was the merit of that holy dance in honor of the Torah that saved our lives...."""

    4. Clearly R' Bender thinks if he bends the knee, Herr Cuomo will go easy on him. That is a bad assessment, Cuomo is not up for re-election, he has his eyes on a position in the federal government. The only thing he fears is bad press

  12. Dear Parents,

As you are well aware, Yeshiva sent home a request for consent to test for COVID last week along with a standard consent form. We would like to firstly apologize that we sent a standard consent form as opposed to a specific for COVID testing. This was an oversight on our part.

As this has very quickly been made into a contentious topic and due to the potential massive ביטול תורה דרבים involved, we would like to share with you the basic information as we know it with the hope that it will provide clarity.

The Governor released the “Road to Recovery” in June as a guide for the opening of the State of NJ. In that plan there were clear benchmarks with regards to what warrants shutting down schools and businesses. The benchmark that determines if a community is in “pandemic” phase is when 20% of tests taken, produce positive results. Lakewood was at 29% before Yom Tov. The Governor’s office was contemplating closing down Lakewood and reached out to the askanim in town with great concerns about Lakewood’s positivity rate. It is worth noting that at the same time, all towns around Lakewood were maintaining a rate of 1-2%.

In response to this, the Igud Rabonim and Igud Mosdos sent out a message asking everyone without symptoms to test. This had the intended results and brought the rate down to 14% by Isru Chag. This was enough of a change that the Governor backed off and was willing to allow the mosdos to stay open. However, the Health Commissioner made it clear that this is contingent on an ongoing effort to test students. The intent of this is to show that we care and are working with them. They delivered 20,000 tests to Lakewood after Yom Tov to help assist with the testing efforts.

Bikur Cholim and Chemed are both recognized by the state as valid testing agents. Bikur Cholim uses a company called Vault medical Services. Chemed does not administer a saliva test which is why Yeshiva opted to go with Bikur Cholim. There are a few points worth noting:
    · The consent forms that were sent out are held by yeshiva and are not given over to the medical company
    · The tester that comes down to Yeshiva is never in any secluded area. All tests are done with the Menahel or his representative present.
    · The consent forms were generic and did not specify that it was for a covid test. This was a mistake and is being corrected. Attached is a simpler corrected version.
    · Since this company has a State contract, the State is aware that Yeshiva is providing tests and is therefore comfortable with our commitment to conform with their requests, thereby allowing us to stay open
    · By law, the Governor was able to close us down before Yom Tov and he chose not to. The only reason that he did not copy Gov. Cuomo is because of the relationship that has been cultivated by hard working askonim, namely R’ Meir Lichtenstein and R’ Avi Schnall who spent the entire Yom Tov negotiating successfully.

In summation, if we do not comply with their request to test, they will shut us down so long as there are positive cases in Lakewood. In the past week since Yom Tov there have been approximately 500 positive cases in Lakewood. This was a result of symptomatic people who have been going to doctors. While this number is lower than it was during Yom Tov, it is still high enough to warrant government intervention. We are hopeful that the positivity rate will continue to decline in the city and we will be able to remain open. However, we need to do our part especially since the Governor has proven that he is willing to work with us.

May we be zocheh to be able to remain open the entire year and to be מרבה קיום העולם with the zechus of the הבל פיהם של תינוקות של בית רבן.

    1. How many times can we keep repeating this

      STOP TESTING. YES YOU. EVERYONE.

      ITS SIMPLE

      NO TESTING = NO CASES

NO CASES = NO SHUT DOWNS

FEELING SICK? STAY HOME AND ISOLATE

      GET IT??????

    2. And if you have been exposed, and have no symptoms, do you sit and worry for 2 weeks, or do you wait 2 days and then go get tested? Most of the people testing are asymptomatic and are testing to relieve anxiety after a possible exposure.

    3. anon 2:58 - I guess you are privy to the meetings with the governor, his threats and his powers.

To the rest of us, the Mosdos are in the room, we are not. As long as we have no better information, we need to follow the Mosdos. When an alternative arises, we will discuss which is better. But for now, get your children tested.

    3. One week of nightly protests would have ended the lockdown. It was gaining traction nationally, and made Cuomo look bad.He also had now way to stop it, he isn't going to arrest 1000 teenagers.

But Cuomo found an out by using a leftist, former chassidish tool who had a personal beef with the organizer, who then invented a story about an assault which didn't happen.

Deblasio and Cuomo used it as a pretext to get the organizer arrested and the religion hating media piled on, effectively ending the resistance.

These are Stalinist tactics, I almost don't recognize this country anymore

  14. Askanim taking Credit for Murphy not shutting down Lakewood. The one who gets the credit is Rabbi Knopfler and othees who filed a lawsuit which is still ongoing. That is why they cant start up with the shuls.
The numbers in Lakewood are the same as other towns in NJ BUT ASKANIM PLAYING UP THE FEAR IN ORDER TO GET PEOPLE TO TEST

  15. Asskanim forcing everyone to test they are in it for the money. Watch how they are all pushing CHEMED as if there is no other doctors office in town. You can get tested anywhere and get blood drawn by labcorp or anny other lab. This is all appeasing uncle phil who keeps moving the goal posts. First it was positivity rate than when the rate is low they point to a high number of casew. The state data is manipulated to serve the interests of the democrats. And our foolish askanim bought into it.

    1. You're confused. Is it for the Chemed money or is it to appease Murphy?
Also, how do you know its not because they actually want to prevent the schools from getting closed down?

      Asking for a friend...

      Delete
    2. Its the quest for power and money that is driving the askanim and some powerful roshei mosdos to con everyone into testing. What have they done to protect older rebbeim in schools from catching it from children? They did absolutely nothing because safety and health is not their concern its power money and bragging rights that they have a relationship with Murphy. The shtick to test health people does not make anyone safer it only ruins peoples life with false positive and drives up the case numbers.

    3. Maybe their main goal is to keep the mosdos open for the children. Did you even think about that possibility? Or do you just assume everyone has ulterior motives?

Maybe you have ulterior motives in your comments?

  17. "In NY, you need to appease him. Because he is the governor"

Come on everybody this is when it should be obvious
The same  Hockers who just a week or two ago were talking & standing up so "tough" to the governor

Completely zero to do with policy or Agenda
Their whole power as mover & shakers relative toour communities respectively
has to do with supposed associations and supposedly necessary middlemen with the powers-that-be
    How they do it ?
Presently, first pretend to be leading where the masses wish to go
And when the governors showed it up to as empty hot air they flipped sides

And with a subtle shift they now switch to Craven submission
