- Pro Alan Dershowitz: I grew up in Orthodox Brooklyn. We must apply the same COVID-19 standards for all and Jews must choose life. There has been far too much finger pointing at Orthodox Jews by civic leaders who should know better. I’m on your side of these legal and political arguments. But Please emphasize those parts of the Torah that deal with mandatory isolation of contagiously ill Jews. Please recall the Talmudic wisdom that he who saves even a single human life, it is as if he saved the entire world (JTA)

-Harold Herskowitz reacts on Twitter to the Blueclaws dropping Lakewood. "Lakewood taxpayers paid for this scam stadium deal.  And now they don't want our name on it. We paid 24 million dollars for the stadium.  Thy got all proceeds. Paid us 25 grand a year in rent. We the Lakewood taxpayers paid all maintenance costs, which was in the millions for 15 years. It brought no business to the town. Was very profitable.  Put money in the politicians pockets. Lakewood had all our money that we could have used to fix our messed up town stolen by these politicians and their buddies. And now they dont even want to be associated with us. I think it's time for a lawsuit. We want our money back."

  1. Even if you don't mind 30 days in jail and $500 fine, all for the sake of not wearing a mask, you would also be considered a convicted felon and would no longer be eligible to vote. Now that should get you thinking.

Even worse, as a convicted felon, you wouldn't be eligible for many govt programs.

    1. I will wear a mask in order to be able to vote for Biden

Biden 2020 - make it a landslide, not just a win

Once you're at it, why don't you show your true support for Biden and lock yourself into your basement for the next 12 months

    3. Useful Idiot

One could dislike Trump & remain cognizant how bad a Biden win Can be

    4. Y Cohen - it is actually the opposite. Even if you dislike Biden, a win for Trump is a disaster for all of us.
Biden is not my first choice, but Trump is a total disaster, he has no clue how complicated things can be. He ballooned the deficit, with no discernible benefit. A country is a complicated thing, we can't leave it to fools, especially fools who refuse to get educated.
Biden will bring in experts, not religious nuts, and get the best possible advice, not his 'gut'.

    5. Yup.

Vote for "the big guy". Hey, maybe he'll give you a cut of the millions of sweet foreign gelt his family has been cashing in on. With tens of millions, from Chinese, Ukrainians and Russians, there's no deficit in the Biden family budget, that's for sure.

    7. Calling 2:17 an ignoramus is an understatement.

Lets start with "He ballooned the defict"

Does 2:17 realize that by the time Trump came into office, the U.S. deficit was so high that it has to pay $500 billion a year just to cover interest costs on debt?

I am assuming that 2:17 is also unaware that after the Trump Tax Cuts, the IRS collected MORE tax revenue than ever due to companies repatriating funds from overseas and an expanding economy

The debt in this country is already so large, and the socialist policies so ingrained, that the only hope of reducing the deficit is with massive economic growth.

Now moving on to "no discernible benefit"

The majority of the increase in deficit was due to BI-PARTISAN covid relief. The PPP was an innovation by Trumps cabinet, that everyone agrees was a success, half the people who still have jobs, can thank the PPP for it

Expanded unemplyment has kept food on the table for millions, I wonder if 2:15 was in one of those cars, lined up on the roadlast night for the free "lunches" paid for by the deficit.likely, he is an advocate for the expanded testing and vaccine development being paid for by the deficit.

At this point only an ignoramous would vote for Biden, as evidenced by 2:17

  2. Is math also a liberal plot?
    130 hospitalized.
    Minus 112 returned home = 18
    Minus 5 niftar = 13
Where did the other 2 come from? You say 15 are hospitalized now.
And what about those that were treated at home?

    1. The 130 hospitalized are only since September 12. The 2 others were likely hospitalized from before that date.

    2. So these numbers are basically bogus. Perhaps those who returned home were also from the last wave.

Basically, this seems like a game to some people

    1. No mask is like wearing A public bumper sticker “I don’t care who I kill”

    2. That's a bit tough. If somebody had Covid or has antibodies, which the majority of Lakewood probably has by now , its 99.99999999 per cent that he will not kill anybody. Yes there have been a possible handful of reinfectiohs ,but its a lot less likely than hurting someone while driving . So to call somebody like that a killer is not responsible. That type of rhetoric is what turns this argument into a political thing ,rather than a purely health question .

      Delete
    3. If the majority of Lakewood had anti-bodies there would be no one getting sick. The statement about the majority having anti-bodies is being used by those who refuse to mask or take this disease seriously to the detriment of everyone else.

    4. 51 per cent is a majority but its still not enough for herd immunity. My guess is that about 30 to 40 per cent hit it the first time and now probably another 10 to 20 per cent. I know some Mesivtas that tested the Bais medrash Bachrim prior to reopening in May and in some cases over 70 per cent had antibodies

  4. Until someone shows me the stats that Lakewood has reached herd immunity (“probably” doesn’t cut it) i would still feel more comfortable letting my bubby drive in her car around Lakewood than Let her go into the grocery store.
I find it very hard to swallow how uncaring for others the majority of the Klal seems to be with regard to health and safety.

    1. You didn't reply . All I said is that its not right to call somebody a killer if he has antibodies.
