The group 'Va'ad hacommenters behefkervelt' issued a statement, that the group 'Vaad Hamosdos Linyanei Corona' made a mistake and their statement is wrong.
Then along came the 'Va'ad hastatements beinyanei commenters' and said that they got it wrong.

Basically, this Va'ad has more words in its name than actual members, and their opinions are absolutely worthless. They are just annoying fleas, that can be ignored with their robocalls, along with the calls about my car warranty about to expire, PBA fundraisers, IRS scams and the like

    1. The Vaad which is working with many Mosdos would have more Neemonus if they would actually be working with Mosdos, who would then probably not send home the forms they are asking parents to sign.

    2. sounds just like the Lakewood Vaad

  2. This 'psak' from Rabbi Klein is bogus, he never said it. But even if he did, how is his psak valid? Does he live in Lakewood? Does he speak English? Does he have any clue about the ramifications of this psak?

This fake phoney va'ad is a public nuisance. They publicize psakim from 'some גדולי ישראל' about a fraudulent Issur to test. What is this Issur? Which of the 365 of them? They need to be stopped, and Vivaser should be told that it is unacceptable to print anonymous pashkevilln against the Menahalei HaMosdos and Rabbonim of town.

    2. Anon 7:36 - Why would I do so? Am I getting paid for this job? And what does that have to do with the lies in the name of Rabbi Klein?

    3. Rabbi Klein wrote a lengthy tshuva. You can disagree, but it isn't bogus. Because you don't know, doesn't mean others don't. Because it doesn't follow your agenda, doesn't make it fake.
What does living in Lakewood and speaking English matter? If you read the psak, you will see he is aware of the ramifications.

What happened with being allowed to make my own choice? Why are schools forcing me to test? Based on what torah, legal, moral, or ethical principal? Just follow the $$$.

I am frustrated with newcomers to this religion that become "leaders" and then knock true torah yiddishkeit because it doesn't mesh with their secular upbringing and "open-mindness".

    4. Rabbi Klein didn't say anything about children in Lakewood getting tested. NOthing at all.

Why should you be allowed to be permitted to make your own choices when they affect the tzibbur at large? A tzibur's decision cannot be made by yechidim, especially when they refuse to actually released their names.

Even if the decision was based on money, this is not the money for individuals, this is the money used to keep the public's schools functioning. You have no right to risk that funding because of some misguided principles of 'freedom' and 'liberty'.

I don't know which religion you recently joined, but Torah Judaism has no problem with children getting tested for a disease to know if they will infect vulnerable people.

  3. Rapids are very inaccurate, without symptoms they are less than 75% accurate. You might as well flip a coin.

  4. This information by this vaad is inaccurate. The chances of false positives is extremely low.

    1. I personally had the virus in April and tested positive in June.
I'm sure that many thousands who had the virus long ago will still test positive even though they are not sick.
Can testing differentiate between those that recovered already to those that are currently sick?

    2. CDC says not to retest within 3 months of a confirmed infection as you can still get a positive test.
No need to people with a positive to retest. (although they should keep the legal and required quarantine period.

  6. No Yom Kippur Katan in Tishri.

  7. Many rabbonim do not agree with the Stoliner Rebbe. You cant halt life on the tiny, tiny, chance that maybe you might be sick and might make others sick. This certainly wasnt done historically during (much worse) epidemics.

    1. This is simply either ignorant and made up or a lie and not true in the slightest.

    2. Historically blood was let for every disease. Before they discovered germ theory, many things were done differently. There once was a time when doctors scoffed at the idea of washing hands prior to surgery, should we return to those days?

  8. A corrupt township commmitee who dont give a care in the world to the financial suffering and quality of life of lakewood residents. The rich get richer on the backs of the poor and the poor are forced to pick up the tab of higher taxes to make up for the lost revenue. They should all be thrown out of office and ashamed to show their face in public for taking advantage of a community who voted them in and abusing the power to enrich themselves and their buddies. Disgusting!!!! This is gneivas daas harabim.

  11. Can someone please explain why the yeshivas are testing? Has the governor made a secret deal with the mosdos?

And the gemara has specific numbers for what is halachicly a mageifa, and the Corona numbers in Lakewood don't come close.

There is no Torah basis for the continued upheaval to our lives.

    1. Where does Mageifa come in? There are halachos of how to act that others dont get damaged by your actions, and there is no way for a person to protect himself, we need society to protect each other. SO by not following the public guidance for coronavirus, you are damaging others, which is forbidden by Torah law.
Your religion may have another way to deal with it, I am not familiar with it. Is it really pastafarian (the religion of lokshen)?

    2. 7:13

The risk factor for blindly following the testing craze is that if anyone in my family results in a false positive, that will cause my entire family to have to quarantine unnecessarily for two weeks. I hope I dont have to explain the extreme distress that would cause

On the flip side. Lets analyze the "pandemic" risk factor.

The FACT is most people in Lakewood are NOT social distancing. The shuls are full with almost no one wearing masks. There are vorts and chasunos every night full of people holding hands and yenting in each others faces. Simchas Torah came and went and we all were in shul dancing and singing mostly without masks and zero distancing.

Are people dropping like flies? NO!
      Are the hospitals overwhelmed? NO!
Is half of Lakewood sick in bed? NO!

The FACT of the situation is that although we are not following the public guidance for coronavirus, we are NOT damaging others!!!!

There are aprox 65,000 - 70,000 orthodox jews in Lakewood. How many are seriously ill? How many are hospitalized? How many are on ventilators?

Yes. One is too many. But we dont shut down an entire city over yechidim. Medically and safety there is absolutely no need to test every single person. Its all about power hungry democrats who want to control your life. Dont allow yourself to have to wear the yellow star, then shoved into a ghetto, and then forced into a cattle car.

    3. If person runs in front of my car, when I had clear way of right, and he dies, am I responsible? Those that are vulnerable should stay home, and otherwise are "running in front of my car". The same way we dont stop all cars on the road because someone might die, we dont shut a country and inconvenience millions because someone might put themselves at harm.
That is halachicly and morally valid.
