    1. Yeah, great idea. A board of Ballei Batim to negotiate with schools. That will definitely work out better than a board of respected Rabbonim who are overseeing the Schools & didn't sign off on the testing until they explained what they are doing to them.

    2. Most Rabbonim did not sign this The roshei yeshiva did not sign this at all and will mot sign it. This is not a board of balei batim it is the parents who have a right and obligation to protect the health and privacy of their children.

עוד היו “ישרים”, היינו: שהתנהגו עם אומות העולם,; מכל מקום היו עִמם באהבה, וחשו לטובתם, באשר היא קיום הבריאה

Corona czar Dr. D Birx “that the Orthodox Jews clashing with local officials over coronavirus restrictions need to understand that they’re living in a “community of others.” “We are a community together. No one group lives in isolation”

    4. What a novel concept! We live in a large community, and we cannot decide on our own how to act, when it affects others.
The question is, why is it so difficult for people to grasp this on their own?
Their are private issues, that only affect the person himself. He should get to decide the level of filtration on his computer, she should decide the length of her skirt, and everyone should learn at their own pace. But when it comes to public issues, the public, not the private citizen, is the one mandated to decide. If there is a conflict and different opinions, there needs to be a way to decide. We cannot have anarchy.
But now we live in a backward world, where the public decides what kind of phone I may have, yet each person decides on his/her own what the public should do about coronavirus.

    5. but when they want to shut down, they talk about the "lakewood" problem and doing razor sharp closures. So either we are part of them or not, can't have it both ways.

And BH the numbers are rising all over the country. Did all those people also go to shul on rosh hashana or go to chasunas?

    6. Mr AB - let's see if you can figure this one out.

We live with other, so we have a responsibility to others. That does not mean we are automatically the same as others. When we are infected, we need to make sure they don't get infected from us, and when they are infected, they need to make sure they don't infect us.
But the decision does not get made by individuals, as smart as they think they are. They have no right to make personal decisions when they affect others. We have a Department of Health, that is mandated by the people that were voted into office by the public, to make decisions for the public. In these matters, we need to surrender our autonomy, because we have no rights or autonomy when it affects others.
Ignoring the government's mandate now is like someone who decided that he can drive 75mph down Forest Avenue in the middle of the night, because he is 'sure' he won't hurt anyone. His assuredness does not give him the right to do things in public. Coronavirus prevention mandates are the same

  2. If the numbers have dropped in Lakewood, but are rising statewide, why are we still testing in Lakewood?? Who is behind this campaign, and what ulterior motive do they have. The ads, videos, and graphics are not cheap. Who is paying for it?

    1. I actually find the right wing comments funnier. The few left wing commenters are generally thoughtful and decent. And then comes some guy, fresh from an article in the (impartial) Yated, frothing at the mouth with righteous indignation about something that is totally not his business, and is mekayem the mitzva of מחאה by writing in ALL CAPS how everyone means just the money, so we should vote for Trump, because the Ba'alei Mussar say that we should drill for oil in someone else's back yard etc.

      But all in good fun

  5. Many schools and mosdos are not going along with this testing drive. Lalewood Rabbonim have spoken against it to their mispalelim and followers.

Because when these dopes are out of jail, they might mug, rob, or even kill you

    3. G-d created poisonous plants and berries. Just because G-d made it doesn't mean we should smoke it.

    4. Anon 7:08 - By that logic, we should put everyone in jail. Because when they are out of jail they might mug, rob or even kill you.
