Monday July 20 News updates Lakewood

-Excessive heat warning until MON 8:00 PM EDT Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
-Nine days begin tomorrow evening.

 - Lakewood Zoning Board  approved a new shul for Beis Medrash of Pine Street, as well as 2 duplexes (4 units) and a single family house, on the intersection of Pine Street and MLK Drive, across from the current trailer shul. ⁣The shul will provide 20 off-street parking spaces. The entrance to the lot will be on Pine Street. Each house will have its own 4 parking spaces. The shul will include a Kiddush room with warmers and it will be limited for internal use and  Shabbos use.⁣ (LNN)

-The US Justice Dept  is filling a lawsuit against the Village of Airmont  in Rockland County for “unreasonably limiting the practice of religion by the village’s Orthodox Jewish community and the Satmar Religous School System” defending religious rights & fighting discrimination.

-3 new positive cases in Lakewood totals 2649/189

-Murphy: 177 new positive cases and 9 deaths added  but are not from last 24 hours. Later this week, New Jersey DOE will be releasing guidance allowing for parents to choose all-remote learning for their children.

- Chai4ever food distribution today, at 1221 Madison Avenue, 6:30 pm. Meals will be distributed on a first come first served basis.

-NJ American Water notified customers in Lakewood to minimize water use and prohibits outdoor watering of lawn or filling pools as there is currently a shortage  due to operational issue at their facility.

- Report: Lakewood Board of Education officials hire law firm to possibly defend against lawsuit  after A former township public schools grants facilitator is suing the Board of Education and several officials alleging she was wrongfully terminated after expressing concern in 2019 over what she considered improper and unethical practices by board employees. see more here

    He adds old Covid cases each day to make things look worse .
    Things are looking Good and He is trying to make them bad .
