KAJ discontinues Hashgach on Empire poultry. Currently Empire is under the kosher supervision of the OU and Tartikov Hashgocho under Rabbi Yechiel Babad.
KAJ Statement:
After many years of giving the highest levels of kashrus supervision at Empire kosher Poultry we will be removing our Hashgocho effective July 20, 2020. This decision was made after much discussion and deliberation both with Empire and internally. Unfortunately, circumstances have developed that prevent us from being able to guarantee that our standards of kashrus will continue to be met. Products manufactured through July 20, and bearing the seal of the KAJ are still under our supervision. see full statement below

ReplyDeleteThe way I see kashrus going in a few areas are as follows;
1- Empire took in Babad hashgocha which is a star-k in שמונה בגדים KAJ will never get along with him as he is a קל to put it mildly. So KAJ will be on the way out.
Please elaborate
DeleteSounds like they it was a money issue and couldn't agree
DeleteIf you really believe these certifiers make their decisions based on "money issues", and would put out a letter to the public with these details because of money, then you better not trust them at all!
DeleteI trust KAJ has good reason to put out this leeter and tremove their certification. They are not even advising to switch to something else under their certification which would give them financial gain. They are telling us to switch to other products under what they feel are higher standards.
Its also possible that sales have been so good with Tartikov that there is no need to pay KAJ
DeleteI don't think they have any poultry under their supervision currently.
DeleteThey don't have other products in this line with their hashgacha.
DeleteKAJ now has no Chicken under their supervision. Thus they were forced to recommend others.
ReplyDeleteYekkies!! the shochtim were probably waking up late 😂
ReplyDeleteIts also very suspicious that yhis letter was released the first day of the 9 days in which we dont eat fleshing. If this was a problem for a while(which it was) then why wait till the 9 days.? Sounds the poultry mafiosos are back at work .
