- The New Jersey Appellate Division yesterday heard oral arguments on an appeal of Lakewood Township's Planning Board approval of Bais Reuven Kamenetz's application for a yeshiva - which turned out to include the Ridge Terrace banquet hall. More on FAA.

 - Faanews reports Lakewood Township Engineering Department turned a blind eye and gave the go-ahead for the developer to receive Temporary Certificate of Occupancies to permit the home buyers to close on their new homes even without constructing the shul, as required under the Planning Board approval.

- Despite claiming to be a "business community ombudsman on behalf of the township", the Industrial Commission has unfortunately deliberately ignored numerous public comment emails which were sent in to be read at their public meetings, especially when the comments were regarding the apparently sensitive topic of The Strand's finances. More here

  1. The Kamenitz development project also included 15 houses (or 30 housing units when including the rental basements).

    As it already stands, the small parking lot in front of the school building is too small to accommodate all the simcha hall cars. Visitors are forced to park illegally along Ridge Avenue. There are also dozens of cars parking in the area of the approved but not yet constructed housing project. Once those houses get put up the Kamenitz disaster zone will get much worse and the expected traffic snarls will really ruin the quality of life for the entire neighborhood.

    All of this could have been avoided had the developer been truthful in his application, so the Board would have had the information to require a larger properly sized parking lot, but fewer housing units. Unfortunately, the developer chose profits over neighborhood safety.
