-NJ.com - Lakewood wedding state and county officials say the venue was not approved to re-open. New Jersey Attorney General’s spokesman said the state has not reviewed or approved "any plans with respect to weddings at catering halls or elsewhere in New Jersey.” The county prosecutor said his office didn’t sanction any specific venue to re-open against Gov. Phil Murphy’s executive orders, but said socially distant wedding ceremonies are acceptable.
“The Lakewood police department conferred with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office to make sure there were no problems with this,” Lakewood Mayor Ramond Coles said. “The purpose is to make sure any events that happen are done in accordance with all of the governor’s guidelines.”
Lakewood Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein said the new plan is a good compromise, allowing residents to celebrate while also practicing social distancing and abiding by the governor’s executive orders.

ReplyDeleteThe tello plan has terrible cellular service, even with a 4G phone, especially since this situation started. Constant dropping of calls. Spoke to customer service, no help. You get what you pay for.
ReplyDeleteTello has been working well for me. (Not in lkwd)
DeleteDoes anyone know why the yeshivas are charging lunch for middle class families not eligible for programs?
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know why they are charging tuition when all they are offering is a call in to a half hour class?
DeleteI get they have overhead, but staff can be furloughed and collect unemployment like many parents have, most would not make less many then they get from Yeshivas.
At the very least, it should be a donation and tax deductable, not payment for services rendered (tuition), since services are not being rendered
To qualify for Federal funds like the PPP they have to keep employees on payroll. Of course, then they shouldn't be charging for those salaries that the government is paying for.
Deletemost schools need to pay out unemployment claims themselves.
DeleteMost schools will have a surplus. They're getting the pop Grant and are charging tuition on top of it while providing minimal service.
DeleteMost Mosdos in Lakewood, if they have a surlpus, will find a way to spend it, then fund-raise for more
DeleteSome auto insurers are voluntarily issuing rebates because there is much less risk these last few weeks. Maybe the moisdois need to see if there are savings because of the shutdown and pass it back to the parents.
