  1. Why bother with this hall? Just make it in a backyard? $4,750? for what? sounds steep...two hours!?

    2. probably legal but with the cops in Lakewood been given full reign of setting up their own laws and the power-to-be in town behind these weddings, you probably will be arrested

  3. I agree why do we need more than 10 people in a backyard who needs to spend thousands for a 2 hour wedding. Let's continue the cheap backyard weddings especially when 95% of us can't afford anything else.

  4. Backyard weddings no, but this yes. I guess if you hire a certain security company owned by a certain former police chief, you can do what you want.

    1. @ab, that's such a horrible thing to say! Do you really think they thought of this idea and made all the plans to implement it, just for this reason? Such twisted thinking. No one is forcing anyone to use this hall. It is there for those who choose to use it. They are giving people another option. What is the problem with that?!?

    2. The amount of hate and chilul hashem this will cause is unnecessary as there is already allot of negative false articles on our community not following the social distancing rules why do we have to be the only community opening halls its not the right thing to do because of aiva.

    3. The same people who have shut backyard weddings and backyard minyanim, suddenly found a way for people to gather. Why is their way better than anyone else? The executive orders don't allow ANY gathering more than 10 people. They are getting around it by using special connections. There's nothing horrible about saying the facts.

  8. 4750 seems to me like its not worth paying for a minyan metzumtzam chasunah. I dont think there is any ripoff. I'm sure the band and flowers etc. aren't overcharging, Its just that once it is that small who cares about having those extras at all, and who needs a hall for such a small group.

    1. I agree I was upset when I saw the idea of capping it at 250 people who in the wrong needs to feed 250 people for a wedding 20 people is more than enough.

  10. With all due respect. And of course not taking away from the hard and tremendous work that R' Aaron and all the other askonim put and are putting in for all of us. It would make sense to come up with this solution for the week after Pesach. When anyone making a Chasunah that toime had no time to even think etc about any other ideas/venues etc. But stating that can book for after Lag B'eomer makes that this is the "accepatble venue" and puts pressure on people with Chasunah dates to use this! The cost does seem a lot for a "2 hour!" tome slot, and a meal for immediate family. And does not sound like any resemblance to a Chasunah. Having this "so called""venue!" in place will also probably make it harder to get some "semi-normal" things in place after the May 15 date of reassessment, which it is reasonable to believe that that would happen.
