-Report:  Engagement party PD gets it all wrong: The summons called it a ‘wedding’ and it charged a 99-year-old man married to a 21-year-old woman. In reality, the man was 27 years old but the officer wrote the date as his birthday, so the following day they released a report saying he was 99! Everyone were in their cars. The media and authorities blew this one again (VeltNews)

-Lakewood community leaders applauded the increased scrutiny announced Wednesday to crack down on social distancing violations.

On our end, we continue our nonstop public service messaging and awareness, along with vital supplies deliveries.”(APP)

  1. The town leaders should stop giving stupid statements and defend the town. They did not do a thing to prevent the virus from hitting Lakewood as it did, now they should just keep quiet instead of fanning the flames and blaming the citizens and yes they should call out the botched breaking up of the engagement party.

    1. It's not just the town "leaders", it is also one of the local websites who many view as the "mouthpiece" of the community. I am not sure what their angle for taking part in spreading the lies and hate is.

I am also usually a big fan of law enforcement. Police on many places have a very difficult and dangerous job, and even in Lakewood, their could be times of danger. However, in Lakewood right now, their are definitely some bad apples in the bunch. for the most part, the police in this town have a relatively easy job, make a very comfortable salary, have excellent benefits and a retirement that most people can only dream about. there is no reason that it should be acceptable to have any police officers with anger or other issues on the force (FYI I have not had so much a s speeding ticket in the past 10 years, but have had an incident where I was yelled at an cursed at by an officer simply for asking them a question).

For the first time since I moved to Lakewood over 20 years ago, I see officers are patrolling the streets. Something they didn't do when their were massive crime waves with break ins happening, but feel that is necessary to do now, in case there are to many people parked near each other in separate cars.

  4. The town should have been shut down over purim no one said boo. its too late now to start blaming and there is actually 100% compliance against social gathering more in Lakewood with such density than many other towns in NJ that have open golf courses and other gatherings for sports recreation etc...

  5. Why does Monmouth medical center need food? They are not taking care of anyone with covid 19. They are all either in kimball or in jersey shore. In fact, MMC is quite empty, as people are scared to go to hospital at this time

  10. ith all the chaos around the current pandemic, hospitals have quietly issued DNR policies. With zero oversight as relatives are not allowed in, sick patients are being left to die and even pulled off respirators. Many sick are not dying they are being killed!
Hatzala are finally coming to this realization and they now avoid transporting to certain hospitals. They are also collecting donations of any respiratory supplies even broken (if repairable) to be used offsite.
Makeshift hospitals are ready to go at Refua Health center in New square and also in KJ Yeshiva shor yashuv in Lawrence has also been transformed into an inpatient facility. All these locations are just awaiting Health Dept. approvals. With current policy hospitals cannot be trusted. If anything can be learned from this crisis perhaps it is time to consider establishing community hospitals that adhere to Torah Values of sanctity of Life.
