Matzav.com- with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Dr. Harvey Hirsch zt”l, a pediatrician at the Chemed (Center For Health Education, Medicine & Dentistry) clinic in Lakewood, New Jersey. He was 68 years old.
Dr. Hirsch was known for his kindness and the respect and compassion he showed to the patients under his care.
A true hero and tzaddik, Dr. Hirsch was moser nefesh to take care of the cholim who came to him.

Dr. Hirsch graduated from Autonomous University of Guadalajara Faculty of Medicine in 1978 and completed his residency at Brookdale University Hospital & Medical Center.
After working for two decades at his Wee Care private practice in Manalapan, NJ, Dr. Hirsch joined Chemed. Dr. Hirsch was a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and during his time in Manalapan, was awarded the NJ Top Doctor Award 2011 by NJ Monthly Magazine and the NJ Favorite Kids Doctor 2012 by NJ Family Magazine.
Recently, despite being unwell and very weak, and despite concerns about being exposed to coronavirus patients at this time, he insisted on taking care of everyone who came to him.
Throughout the week and on Shabbosos and Yomim Tovim, Dr. Hirsch made himself available at all hours to address people’s medical emergencies and questions, whether the people were his patients or not.
Hit patience and savlanus were awe-inspiring, as he gave every person all the time they needed, always doing so with a smile and a kind word.
Dr. Hirsch had a remarkable ayin tov and never a negative word. He would be consumed with worry over every adult or child who needed a refuah, and sought to do whatever he could to find an answer to people’s challenging medical concerns.
Dr. Hirsch is survived by his wife, Mrs. Yehudis Simcha Hirsch, and their family.
