- Hurricane Milton is advancing toward Florida, where it could be one of the most destructive storms on record, according to the National Hurricane Center. The storm on Tuesday strengthened back into a Category 5 hurricane, NHC said, but is forecast to weaken to Category 3 ahead of its landfall somewhere on Florida’s Central Gulf Coast.
