The problem starts way before the age gap by making elitists amongst us and having categories of only metzuyanim thereby sidelining everyone else and it is those girls or even boys that are not looked at or redd shidduchim because they were not accepted or part of the elite class. The shidduch crisis is much more than numbers but nobody wants to address the core issues.

Fact is the 3 months are more like 2 months when you factor in the extra people rushing to start dating before the zman + continue for the first few weeks + people start before the 3 month mark.. closing the gap may help the situation but the focus of eliminating the freezer is pathetic.
