Phil Murphy said he will sign, reversing a fall veto. “Toll increases will be the latest broken promise by Governor Murphy and fellow Trenton Democrats,” state Senate Minority Leader Anthony Bucco, R-Morris, said in a statement. “

- BDE: Hamodia  reports the Peirah of  Reb Yitzchak Moshe Weisstein, 72, z”l, from California, tragically passed away Tuesday morning in Boro Park. He had travelled to New York to take part in a family simchah, and was waiting for his Uber on Tuesday morning to take him to the airport for his 9 a.m. flight back home, when he slipped and fell down a staircase. He was unfortunately pronounced dead on the scene R"L

- Lakewood BOE reappoints and extends General Counsel, Michael l. lnzelbuch's contract from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025; at the annualized retainer of $600,000.00, and payable in equal monthly payments of $50,000.00, plus costs, if applicable, There will be no charge for hours worked in excess of the $50,000.00 monthly retainer. In addition, lnzelbuch shall be compensated at the hourly rate of $475.00 for any litigation services, payable monthly, upon presentation of detailed logs documenting litigation services.
As an independent contractor, lnzelbuch shall not be enrolled in the Public Employment Retirement System or any other State run pension system, nor shall he be enrolled in health benefits plan or any similar State run health coverage plan.
Third party expenses and disbursements made by lnzelbuch on the Board's behalf will be separately itemized and reimbursed by the Board in accordance with customary and usual practices for law firms representing public school districts, including, but not limited to, filing fees, messenger services and stenographic transcripts. 

BOE agenda items Approve Theraplay to supply training on Harassment, Intimidation & Bullying Prevention to Tiferes Bais Yaakov staff beginning on 2-5-24 through 3-14-24 for a total of 44 hours at $300.00 per hour, not to exceed a total cost of $13,200.00;


- Assemblyman Sean Kean (R-Wall) wants New Jersey to allow Israeli citizens to get New Jersey driver’s licenses, along with a reciprocal agreement for New Jerseyans living in Israel.
Kean, who represents Lakewood, the largest Orthodox Jewish municipality in the state, made the request in a letter to Gov. Phil Murphy today, asking him to model the plan after one he agreed to with South Korea and Taiwan during an economic mission to East Asia in October.(NJ Globe)

 - A school board in Connecticut has voted to remove Veterans Day and Columbus Day from the school calendars.  A member also proposed removing the second day of Rosh Hashanah.
