ReplyDeleteShe isn't Jewish. Her father was.
DeleteLooks like everyone went to Panama for yeshiva week break Orlando is for wannabees
ReplyDeleteDon't what's going on with the kollel but the daycare on central Ave backs up traffic on the shoulder everyday it is a Sakana with fathers pushing strollers on Central with high speed traffic weezing by. How was it initially approved if there's not enough parking.
ReplyDeleteYou can ask that about every daycare is this city. In fact you can ask that about everything built in this city.
DeleteWhy are there no sidewalks on the West Gate side of the street is something you should ask your local councilmen for approving the whole complex with out making them put in sidewalks on the outside of the complex.
DeleteHow much parking does a day care center need?
DeleteMany of the parking problems you are complaining about is only for 1\2 hour a day. Do you really need so much parking just for 1\2 hour a day?
About Mrs. Murphy, I don't know if her campaign is related to the governor's political deals but I said in November that there was some kind of deal between the Vaad and the governor. Governor Murphy expressed his opposition to our litigation. Shortly thereafter the Vaad endorsed the incumbents who have opposed us in court. The Vaad did not convene a quorum or allowing me to appear before them as promised by their vice-president (their president did not even know about it), hid the endorsement of the incumbents to the BOE from me for a week or two, and did not tell me about the governor's shake-down of them until another week. Had I been consulted, I would have recommended to play hard ball and explain why the governor should settle.
ReplyDeleteMoreover, pushing off the litigation is risky (Murphy lost on our motion in aid of litigants' rights and the Court order his commissioner to report back by April 1). His opposition may harm his chances for Secretary of Education if we go all the way to the Supreme Court and win, or whatever may be his political aspirations.
We need the loans to be forgiven and a change in the formula. This was salutary neglect by the Vaad of the highest order. This whole matter is WAY above their pay-grade. The governor played them as chumps. Aaron Lang
ReplyDeleteDivide & conquer is the party. Start with the orthodox Jews. Dangle some green to their Reb askunim. They fall easily & fast. They'll be told it's good deed to vote for trash.Who cares if NJ ends up like NY
"Has yet to mention" she should stir up the regular experienced white folk out there?!
Looks like Shnall and Lichtenstein are already in the tank for the Murphys
ReplyDeleteThey're in & can't even swim
DeleteI remember when the mayor of New Jersey came to the SHI dinner , and one of the Rishai Yeshiva gave him a kiss, and he kissed him back. Later they found out that this mayor was a mishkov zochernik. That Rosh Yeshiva probably is still washing off his face with alcohol everyday till today. Lol
ReplyDeleteFirst off NJ has a government not a mayor. Secondly I googled it and couldn't find any mention of that governor attending a SCHI dinner. Thirdly I can't picture any Lakewood Rosh Yeshiva kissing any not frum politician. If one would have there would be pictures of it online too (no pun intended)
DeleteIt was Cory Booker
DeleteIsn't he Dan l'kaf zechus probably the former mayor that since he's helping out his place, how could he possibly be that bad?Must be he was a shogeg karov l'ones or kafo'i sheid :^]
DeleteGov. Mcgreevey did come to an early SCHI dinner, before the days of frum internet sites so probably not anywhere on line.
DeleteCommenting is useless.
ReplyDeleteOrganize yourselves, find representatives in each Shul, prepare handouts with clear information about what you will do and how you will do it.
Stop the vague 'end the corruption' and 'lower taxes' and explain what it is you will do.
Thumbs up
DeleteI have already done everything. I only want support, but I don't need it. Don't come crying to me when the formula is fixed, Lakewood's finances are stabilized, but the state decides to do something against this or that private interest.
ReplyDeleteWhen the governor comes to town for a political meeting then I should be told (but was not). When I tell the oilam that the BOE opposes me in court so we should elected new members, don't vote for the incumbents. When I point out that EVERYONE in the Igud knew, or should have known, as early as 2014 that we were going to win, don't say that you are surprise. When I tell you that the Senate leadership is asking (April 2023), "How much for Lakewood because of our win in court," and the governor perceives a threat to his legacy because we proved the formula is failing, don't tell the voters that you need to elect a low level Assemblyman just to have a seat at the table. Everyone in NJ, Senators, the executive, and the courts, all three branches, is at the table. Your man, your leaders, your righteous peddlers of hakaros hatov and achdus, are not.
The point is that all this talk of corruption, organizing, getting out the vote, is child's play. EVERYTHING is going to change soon. And then, all the pieces will fall in place
Bottom, I am doing everything (with Prof. T.). I don't need the BOE, Vaad or Igud. They can oppose all the want. They still will lose. I don't need a friendly BOE. The facts and law are on our side. (The most ridiculous attitude is that they are brought up, perhaps from childhood, not believing that knowledge is power but who you know. WRONG. Smart people learn from smart people. Dummies get no where. And that is why Lakewood usually get the raw side of the deal.)
It will the people that alienate me whose interest will not be protected. Not because of revenge, but because they will not be at the table. After all, it is who you know, and no one knows them. Or maybe they do know them, and know that they are chumps.
It is the whole polity in Lakewood. You want to be in yeshiva, ok. But once you get our, there are educational expectations of American citizens in general.
DeleteYou don't need English. You don't need college. You can open a business without putting in years of apprenticeship. Just are bunch of peddlers. Nursing home peddlers, clothing peddlers, even company men are essentially peddlers. They peddle engineer, scientist, architect, but rarely become one on their own. Live off the work of others. Sure they go to law school, but they skip college. Is it a wonder that our finances are going to collapse? Look at our leaders.
Then they convince each other, "It is not what you know, but who you know." People in North Jersey are educated. As soon as your assemblyman starts talking to them, they will size him up. Sure he can make deals, but people like that can NEVER fix the school formula, don't comprehend the futility of winning school voucher on a large scale (simply because they don't respect education and the place of the public schools in our society), and certainly will never build an infrastructure. Robert Moses built NY after he got a PhD in government. Did he need it to build highways? Not sure. But I am sure that when he talked to politicians, the federal government, and contractors, they know he was smart, that he knew how government works, and he won their respect.
This has always been the attitude from the days of the chicken farm until the present. You don't need to know anything, just slap the back of others and hire people with knowledge that you don't have. And you never know when you are duped. This is Lakewood. Show me one single member of the Vaad that truly understands NJ politics, that we are a home-rule state, that power is disbursed into individual fiefdoms (so since the Vaad has a fiefdom, that makes them so smart because they know people). I come from a different world. If you own a pharmacy, you are a pharmacist. If you run an oil company, you are a petroleum engineer. And if you run for office, you best be educated.

DeleteWill there be a Livestream of the hespedim tonight
ReplyDeleteWhy did some frum stores charge ten dollars more than shoprite for passionfruit
ReplyDelete1. You're free to go to shoprite.
Delete2. The frum stores buy it for more than shoprite.
3. It's not carried a whole year round, so if they have any leftovers, it's a loss.
R' Aaron Lang, I believe the silent majority supports you. Even those led like sheep to the voting booth and which button to press. You should be matzliach and be mezakeh the rabim.
ReplyDeleteI apologize for my criticism. I am a public school teacher, and I teach young yeshiva boys, so I hope you understand why I criticize the attitude toward secular education. On the bright side, there are far more autodidacts (self-taught people) in Lakewood than in many other places. (Of course, if you only have a sixth grade education, it is not difficult to be an autodidact.)
ReplyDeleteUnderstated.cheers
