-  Biden administration won't seek to reinstate enhanced weekly $300 unemployment benefits set to expire on Sept. 6 and is instead urging states that want to continue the extra payments to use their share of COVID-19 rescue funds.

- Update: Denver police have arrested 4 suspects in connection with the murder of a yeshiva bachur. They were taken into custody last night. Police say it appears the victims were targeted at random  the homicide near the yeshiva Toras Chaim does not appear to be bias motivated. See more

-  Gov. Phil Murphy is expected to announce that New Jersey will require teachers to be vaccinated for the coronavirus, NJ Advance Media has learned.  It wasn’t immediately clear whether Murphy would allow teachers to opt out of getting vaccinated in exchange for regular testing, which is being done in California

- CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky makes case for booster shot admitting  efficacy of the shots has dropped among individuals who received their vaccines early on. A US Study of nursing homes shows vaccine effectiveness declined to 53% with the Delta variant. She noted an Israel-based study that showed increased risk of severe disease among those vaccinated early’  (reuters)

- Approx 70 girls waiting to be placed in high school 20-25 primary age girls also waiting to get into school as the new year begins in less than 2 weeks.

- As the food lunch program at home is set to end by Aug 31 Community activists in Cherry Hill, NJ gathered with locals officials asking the gov to continue the food boxes as local families and Mexican workers have come to depend on it during theses challenging times. with unemployment for some families this has now become a main source of food.

- Toms River board of Ed at the meeting last night said they will send a letter to Gov. Phil Murphy asking him to rescind his school mask mandate before children return to school. Many parents said they will defy the mandate or pull their kids out.(APP)

  2. If there was concern about food insecurity the push would be for the government to directly give ppl ebt or pebt benefits why boxes which causes so much waste and all the overhead
