  1. Lakewood taxpayers should take note of the Jersey City T & E case, the hot issue today in educational funding.

I think Jersey City is the model for that which will happen to us soon unless we win in Alcantara.

The state removed the 2% tax cap and authorized a payroll tax because Jersey City was not taxing up to it local fair share.

In our case, since we will have a monitor, with authority to raise taxes to the fullest extent of the law, until ten years after the last loan, should the state authorize removal of the tax cap, the monitor will have no choice but to impose the increases. At that point, I can try, but likely, we will no longer have a T & E claim and will not be able to go to court since the kids will have the funding from local dollars. The Court does not care if the money comes from state or local.

In fact, even now the state is arguing we do not have a T & E claim since we are getting the money through loans. We are arguing that the kids are not getting T & E despite the loans (and a secondary argument that loans per se are not T & E).

Jersey City city brought a T & E claim since they cannot raise all the money at once and their schools are going to be hundreds of millions short.

See the excerpts from Donna Arons' motion to dismiss the T & E claim, which Judge Jacobson denied.

"And certain SDA districts -including JCBOE - are provided an adjustment to the levy cap that allows those districts to increase their levy up to LFS. L. 2018,
    c. 67, §6 (amending C.18A:7F-38(a)-(d)." page 26

"In addition to these tools, the Legislature also amended the Local Tax Authorization Act (“LTAA”), N.J.S.A. 40:48C-1 to -42, which authorizes municipalities to collect a variety of local taxes, with L. 2018, c. 68 (“Chapter 68”). Specifically, Chapter 68 amended the LTAA to make population the lone qualification requirement for imposition of a payroll tax. L. 2018, c. 68, §1." p. 28

Jersey City is far below their local fair share. The state cut adjustment aid that formerly filled in the gap. So to catch them up, the state removed the 2% cap on tax increases and also approved a payroll tax.

We too are far below T & E, not so much below the local share, about $18 million, but our taxes are way below what the state wants us to pay.

The main defense the state put up in our case is that we did not raise enough taxes. They said we could have had referendums (yea, sure) and could have increased taxes during 2011-14 (even though we were then taxing at our local fair share).

Although no court would likely buy the incoherent arguments of the Lakewood BOE opposing our T & E claim, still, the very idea that it opposes us will raise eyebrows in the Appellate Division and Supreme Court. The BOE, and the township committee for not asserting its influence and de facto authority, if not de jure, must be held accountable.

    2. I have already turned down two prominent authors who wanted to write a book about Lakewood and my case. A NY Times contributor just contacted me less than an hour ago. I have nothing good to say. Better to say nothing at all.

It boggles the mind what is happening and nobody takes a stand. I originally filed in 2014 thinking I would finally get a promotion in the district but instead was demoted. The whole state except Lakewood is rooting for us and everyone who is anyone in this town is too cowardly to take a stand.

  5. Since the American armed forces have gotten so woke female in the military hierarchy and feministic oriented
    a. Even backward men with a will and spirit are able to beat them
    b. Let the women therefore fight the battles without the men giving their blood

  6. Who remembers Trump's deal with the Taliban? It is of course scrubbed from his website, but he freed 5000 Taliban fighters in exchange for nothing, and promised to leave Afghanistan. Now the deed is done, but Trump has no business complaining, when he put this into place, and it is his releasees that are committing the carnage now.
The Trump Afghanistan crisis is just a follow-up to the Trump pandemic

    1. The notion that because Trump supported leaving Afghanistan, that Biden's catastrophically failed retreat is merely a fulfillment of that promise is; at best foolish, and probably a lot closer to disingenuous.
A military can leave a country, while simultaneously installing a proper structure so as not to leave a vacuum.
A military can also beat a hasty exit without the aforementioned plan in place, so as to merely satisfy a "woke" contingent that has no working understanding of the particular region, and its people.
It seems more than likely that the current administration is the latter group.
      Woke, and inept.
I'm not deluding myself. Trump was - and still is - an arrogant blowhard, a buffoon, a womanizer, and something of a sociopath. But in a region of the world where "might makes right", and fear is the only thing keeping these despicable animals at bay, it's more than likely that he would would have done a far better job with keeping some of the structural integrity of the government in place: even if he had ultimately pulled the troops out.

This region of the world, in particular, abhors a vacuum.
We're now seeing what that vacuum engenders.

  7. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT WE WERE THERE 20 YEARS, INCLUDING MY SON, AND DID NOT KNOW THESE GUYS WOULD NOT FIGHT?!?! THE WILL TO FIGHT IS THE MOST BASIC ELEMENT OF WAR.

I WAS BORN WITH MY COUNTRY(BESIDES APPOMATTOX) NEVER LOSING A WAR. NOW I HAVE SEEN TWO.

THIS IS A MAJOR, MAJOR, FAILURE OF AMERICA.

KELLOGG BROWN AND ROOT (HALLIBURTON) WAS THE ONLY WINNER IN THIS WAS. WE NEED TO REMEMBER WHAT EISENHOWER WARNED WHEN HE LEFT OFFICE.
