  4. "nurses from the Greater Lakewood area going to lose their job because they won't want to be vaccinated"

Why on earth would a nurse not be vaccinated. It's pashut that no nurse or doctor or any medical worker should be allowed anywhere near patients or coworkers without being vaccinated.

    2. Remember its "DARCONIAN" to be vaccinated !!!!
With that type of attitude what other "DARCONIAN" methods do they apply to patients????
They should not be a nurse or ANY medical Professional (non professional would be the more correct adjective) EVER.

    3. Tucker is not news he’s a propagandist.
“Askanim reached out...” who’s these self appointed askanim? Of course nurses should vaccinate. It’s the overwhelming consensus of the medical world that vaccines work, notwithstanding the communities’ obsession with tucker and the rest of Fox News meshugoim.
Hospitalizations are up and it’s overwhelmingly the unvaccinated. Why can’t the facts be facts.

    6. Strange. The same pro vax nuts are the same guys that had a problem with people davening on porches 50 feet away from their neighbors.
Can someone please explain this coincidence.

    7. I was the one who organized the Minyan on my block, yet I think those that won't take this vaccine are a bunch of basket cases, ignorant dangerous morons.
Coincidence? I don't think so. Medical advice from the experts that researched it is the way to go.

    8. as a nurse from the "greater lakewood area" speaking on behalf of myself and my colleagues who work in hospitals in lakewood, monmouth and tom's river, I would like to know who these "askonim think they are representing. We are begging people to get vaccinated as if the covid wards fill up again and we go back to working 4 or 5 12 hour shifts in a row doing the best that we can yet watching people die anyways, we will burn out and quit. Out of the hundreds of nurses I know through my years in the field, I can count on one hand the number who are not already vaccinated. Please show your support for the tired and weary healthcare community as well as a modicum of concern for your own health and well being and get VACCINATED. BTW I am vaccinated and have not yet mutated into a giant green frog. Not that that means anything, it can still happen in a year of two

  5. With 90 girls looking for a school its the perfect opportunity for some 'wanna be' Rebbitzin to open a school with 3 parallel classes and actually be a real Rebbitzin.

However, the truth is that most of these 90 girls are NOT looking for a school they are looking to join their dream club AKA this and that specific school ONLY.

    1. The days of people just being to open high schools at will ,are over. Women are not willing to work for less than they can get in businesses. And the businesses in Lakewood are making so much money ,they are willing to pay very high salaries just to find women workers. The only reason we have mesivtas is that the men want to be marbitz Torah at any cost and will work almost for free just to get a shtelle. It is not possible any more to open girls high schools and attract the talent necessary to have a good school , with the relatively low tuitions being paid in Lakewood high schools .

Time to mandate vaccinations as this is the only wat to make progress.
How many stories does one have too see of non vaccinated people severly ill wishing they took the vaccine - please do not be the next victim.

  9. I sent in three questions for the BOE meeting tonight:

    1) Given that it is at the least debatable that the state has not provided a thorough and efficient education in Lakewood from the time I filed Alcantara in 2014 until 2019 when the record was closed and given that a T & E claim is the only cause of action that the NJ Supreme Court has recognized in a school funding case, why is the BOE opposing the necessary element in proving my case?

    2) What will the BOE say to our children who will likely not be able to afford a home in Lakewood because of the BOE's mounting debt, which the statute requires to be repaid out of future state aid, essentially shifting the state's share of school funding to Lakewood taxpayers unless a court unless we win? (The state has got a good thing going.)

    3) When you speak about going to Trenton have you considered that we have heard for two decades that our local leaders are working with Trenton, and have you discounted the likely scenario that the legislature is not exactly inclined to help Lakewood and perhaps will eventually remove the two percent tax increase cap from towns owning more that $50 million in debt or some amount to make sure that Lakewood pays?

  12. You guys want to mandate vaccines. When you allow the government to start mandating everything it is a very slippery slope. Do you want the government involved in every part of your life?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Anything that is relevant to the public, should be mandated by the public. People shouldn't have the right or freedom to affect the public with their own ideas.
This slippery slope started already when they made speed limits on roads.

  15. How many of those 90 girls have applied to all the high schools and indicated that they are willing to attend any frum high school in Lakewood. Or are some or most only willing to attend very specific schools that are full already? And even those that might now be more willing to attend other schools ,were they willing to do that several months ago when the schools were filling up and now the schools are full ? Just some interesting questions .

  17. Some girls applied to ALL high schools and even deal high school and were not accepted to even one. Stop blaming the kids for the mechanchim's shuttering the doors of mosdos chinuch, often for bogus or ridiculous reasons.

    1. From what I have heard, this us true every year fir a small number of girls. But the vast majority ,did not apply to every school and most would have gotten into a school had they applied everywhere . Yes there will always be a handful with issues that need to he placed but that becomes difficult when there are 60 out of 80 who really didn't need the placement had they been willing to go to other schools

      Delete
  18. Could somebody give us a real number of how many girls there are whose parents were willing to be open minded and attend ANY of the frum high schools during the acceptance process months ago ,and still did not manage to get into any school at all. And how many schools are there that have less than 35 girls in a class that could possibly take more girls ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I am not very open minded I don't want my daughter to go to a school were they teach in yiddush(since she does not speak yiddush)I mostly cover my hair with a scarf so I don't want her to go to a school that wants the mother to were a wig. So yes I am being very picky and closed minded.

      Delete
  19. Every girl has a right to want to go to the schools her and her parents think fit best obviously within reason. To tell a girl she has to be willing to go to any Jewish school is ludicrous and you big talker would never do the same with your own children. There are many different types of schools and you wouldn’t send to all either so don’t expect that from my daughter.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I really understand. So you are saying that you have the right to force any school that is full with 40 or more kids in a class to take your daughter and to hire extra teachers that they cant afford and make more classes that they cant afford and spend millions of dollars that they don't have , in order to build more classrooms that they don't have room for ,so that you daughter ,can go to that school instead of another school that already has empty desks . I'm sure that makes a lot of sense to most of the readers here . I'm also sure that you will be the first to raise the funds necessary to make that all happen .

      Delete
    2. You are not making much sense. I didn’t say the school is forced to accept my daughter but neither can you force me to go to a school I don’t want to and is not the standards I want for my daughter. Would you tell a yeshivish girl she has to go to a chassidish school or vice versa? Just because there is a problem that there is not enough room in the schools doesn’t mean I have to send my daughter to whatever school and you wouldn’t either so don’t mandate it on me. Btw I don’t have any daughters going to high next year.

    3. Lakewood once had a group of askanim that helped children who couldn't find a school, or get into one. They would meet the parents and try and find the best solution. The schools knew that they had to meet them and find a way to help them, and that was how it was.
One day, the schools realized that they could control these askanim more than the askanim could control them. They persuaded them to make a rule that each girl needs to take multiple entrance exams and apply to multiple schools, and they schools decide between them 'who is in and who is out'. If you didn't listen, the askanim couldn't help. If a non-approved askan calls a school, the menahalim can say 'we don't deal with you', because they only deal with 'approved' askanim.
So instead of the askanim working to help children and their parents, they now work to help schools.
And we wonder why disasters happen.............

      Delete
    4. Im not sure how you are making sense . You agree that the schools that are overfull can not be forced to take your daughter. You say that you do not want to send your daughter to any other schools because its not for her . You have not offered to donate millions of dollars to create new schools that might be exactly to your liking . You are calling the administrators of the schools bad names because they are full and shutting their doors to your daughter who only wants or needs to go to their full over capacity schools . So what exactly are you suggesting other than blogging online ?

      Delete
    5. Who exactly is forcing you to send your daughter to a school that you feel is not for her. By all means try to send her where you feel she belongs . But if those schools you want are full , then don't tell the whole town to shut down and keep schools closed because your daughter is out if school. You can keep trying to get her in wherever you want but the whole town doesn’t have to shut down their schools while you are trying .

      Delete
    6. I didn’t call anyone bad names

      Delete
    7. Im sorry. I was referring to the poster who complained about mechanchim "shuttering their doors for bogus reasons " . I assume he meant that having more than 35 to 40 in a class is a bogus reason . In any event , according to your logic even making more schools is not the solution. Because who says that the new schools will be to your liking ? Maybe you will feel that the new school is too modern or too frum or too chasidush or too heimish for your daughter or too scholastic or too little scholastic, or too with it type of kids or too nebby type of kids. I think everybody rational agrees that not every one of the 1500 new 9th graders can physically fit into the 2 or 3 schools that you think are the most fitting for your daughter . So other than accepting a 2nd or 3rd or 4th choice ,what is your solution ? Especially when the older established, in demand schools are 90 per cent full with siblings before they can even consider any new girls.

  20. With all due respect, a hospital can mandate whatever they want. If they say their staff has to be vaccinated then they should be vaccinated. If the hospital would be saying patients can come which are not vaccinated that would be something else.
For all these employees which are working in hospitals, just curious which rabbi did they call before going to all these courses.
    Don't play frum here.
For the record I am not pro vaccinations, however being in a hospital setting things are very different you are dealing with compromised patients.
I'll bet 90% of the staff working in the hospitals would not want their parent treated by an unvaccinated staff.

  21. Vaccinated people can still spread covid, so the only person to protect when vaccinating, is the person themselves. So why don't I have that choice once it's no longer a public health issue, it's a private issue, at my own risk.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I am not an anti vaxxer but did not get the COVID vaccine and don’t plan on. Number one I Bh have antibodies, number two I am not convinced that these vaccines are safe and there have been concerning stories with them, number 3 recent studies show that vaccinated people are losing their immunity over time so this needs more development. Don’t start hocking about protecting others because you have no proof that me getting the vaccine makes you any more safe.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The issue is that the vaccines don't seem to actually work longer than a couple of months, so why the push to make everyone take it. Furthermore, it has not been tested for side effects for longer than about a year. Historically the average vaccines is tested 10-15 years prior to becoming publicly available.
I personally take all vaccines as do my children but for now I am staying on the sidelines, call me in 2025 and I may reassess.

  25. How many thousands of dollars do you expect parents to pay in non-refundable application fees for all these high schools?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The Application fees for the local high schools are about 25 or 30 dollars at most so even if you apply to 6 or 7 high schools its between 150 and 210 dollars . Not thousands. I'm quite sure that if there are a few parents that can't afford that ,then the vaad will subsidize that . Every single one of these parents have no problem spending 300 dollars per school to apply to a bunch of seminaries but somehow for high school ,then 25 or 30 dollars becomes exorbitant .
