  1. Awesome. I think I will buy in Vishnitz for that price. Oops, they won't let me. I know a litvish person who tried to buy in Rockwell - same story. They didn't let him. But we are supposed to greet them with open arms or else we are Sonei Yisroel.

    1. Knock it off, you know that they want to be insulated, let them be.
Like a true Democrat, you are creating the hate.

    2. They want to be insulated but still use our resources when convenient and drive up our taxes.

    3. Our taxes are flat, because the new developments increase the rateables as per the township in today's budget meeting.
      So stop the lies.

    4. I dont know how long you've lived in Lakewood, but my taxes along with everyone else's have gone up significantly. The BOE is in debt over 200 MILLION and growing. The only reason they didnt raise taxes was bc of covid their expenses went down and they got federal money. We are the only township that doesnt have normal impact fees on builders and we hand out tax abatements like candy to connected people.

    1. Why should we lower ourselves to become members of a party? We are willing to pay the price of our freedom not to belong to a party.
Remember, "he who would convince you to believe absurdities, can convince you to commit atrocities".
Nobody would ever throw a shtender at someone because of a private fight. Only when he is fighting for his party, will he commit the most disgusting of acts, throwing yoghurt during Kedusha, and lifting benches and shtenders on each other.

Reb Yerucham told Reb Leib Gurwitz before he went to get married (when he thought he would move to England near his father in law and become a Rav), "keep far away from a party, once you enter a party, half the Yiras Shamayim escapes".

    3. There were many gedolim who argued on R' Yeruchem who held that you must join parties. The Chofetz Chaim, R' Chaim Ozer, R' Ahron, R' Moshe, Rav Shach, the list is long.
R' Yeruchem is entitled to hold the way he did, and so did most of his talmidim, but he was a דעת יחיד in the Litvishe velt.
To insinuate that what is going on in Ponevezh has to do with joining parties, aside from being ridiculous is also a bizayon to the gedolim who held it as a mitzvah.
There are vilde chayos in every part of klal yisroel.
The Satmar chasidim who threw eggs at the Klauseberger Rebbe didn't belong to any party

  3. Well if Vizhnitz can sell for under $500,000 in Lakewood, that means it's possible. Why cant others sell for that price?

    1. Because other developments are built by profit seeking developers. Viznitz is selling to enable their chasidim to relocate, not for a profit motive.
Lakewood should do like other townships and grant variances based on the selling price of the final developed home, ie; affordable housing.

    2. Simple

those who the raison d'etre was leaving the materialistic profit-oriented World Behind for better Pursuits whether a few years ago or decades ago are usually more innocent and less capable of organizing accordingly than those whose modus operandi are based on those Concepts
