A mix of sleet and snow is falling, with more than 7 inches accumulated so far. Many retail stores are closed as road conditions continue to deteriorate. Snow is packed down and turning to ice, causing cars to skid. Strong winds are blowing snow into mounds, with basement steps becoming fully covered
