- Vaad L'Mishmeres Shatnez:
Popular T. O. woolen coat found with shatnez!
T.O. brand coat - Wool Collection
Dear Friends, It's important to address the discovery of shatnez in a popular winter coat. It has been confirmed by shatnez experts that one woolen 3/4 coat from the T.O. brand - wool collection - contained four linen-blend scraps. These scraps connect the lining to the woolen outer fabric. Good news: the shatnez has been carefully removed from the coat, without damaging the coat. Several identical coats were also tested at a shatnez laboratory and found to contain various types of scraps none of which were linen. This underscores the risk of assuming that all coats are constructed in the same manner. These T.O. woolen coats cannot be worn before a qualified shatnez laboratory verifies that they do not contain any linen.

There are still about 5 boys from MH that are not in a school yet.
ReplyDelete5 boys who don't have a place from the Cheder that closed.
Delete@anonymous 10:23, now that you showed us all how cool you are because you know what MH stands for, would you care to enlighten the rest of us mere mortals about what MH is?
ReplyDeleteMesoras Hatorah, it's been talked about here recently.
DeleteRe: Shatnez
ReplyDeleteI don't know if this is legit or not but please remember that the shatnez industry relies on everyone needing to check all of their clothing to stay in business. With so many Jewish clothing stores manufacturing their own (presumably) shatnez free clothing the demand for their service goes down. There is a real conflict on interest here.
Just saying
So you're saying that Gefen, Haddar, Kemach etc don't need a hechsher?
DeleteMany things don't need a hechsher.
DeleteFlour, (unflavored) coffee and water, fruits and vegetables (ridiculous mark-ups in the heimishe stores in Lakewood).
Anyone who still values a penny, their opinion doesn't count
ReplyDeleteYair netanyahu learned from the askanim how to get a do nothing job and get paid a LOT of money.
ReplyDeleteWhen will people in Lakewood realize how badly the olam is being played for fools? A person can lie to the entire community with empty promises of free tuition, fail to deliver, and then shamelessly return for reelection completely ignoring his past deception. This time, we’re being fooled again, with staged photos of Roshei Yeshiva meant to “endorse” the same nonsense.
ReplyDeleteThey talk about a “bloc vote” supposedly to benefit Lakewood, but not a single penny goes to help the yechidim. The funds and grants are quietly diverted to benefit the well-connected. It’s time for the tzibbur to wake up and put an end to this ongoing abuse.
There is a big olam who are not voting for schnall because of the tuition lies people realized he's a phony politician like all the rest and says what it takes to get elected.
DeleteHe works for developers and nursing home moguls nobody's tuition went down a cent.

Maybe """Daas Torah""" isn't all that it's cracked up to be, and municipal governments should be run according to proper principles and not according to who can schnorr more for "supporting Torah". Goes for Israel and it goes for Lakewood, just a suggestion from a friendly tziyoini...

It's a way of supporting Toeva.
But the fact that Schnal is refusing to discuss his toeva votes in public knowing there's questions about it means he's hiding something
Tragic Emes

ReplyDeleteWhere is ciatterellis brains whys he waisting his time in Lakewood , he knows he has our vote ,go out to all over new Jersey ,Lakewood is the last place he needs to campaign.
ReplyDeleteCud someone tell him not to come here Sunday and use this precious time elsewhere
Ppls have their minds made up, but the need to show at the polls. Lakewood has notorious low turnout. You have my vote... If I vote.
DeleteWhich style coat from T.O. ? Do coats purchased in the last few yrs need to be checked as well?
ReplyDeleteTpusa is making a rally in Lakewood on Sunday @3pm not sure which rally to go to
ReplyDeleteWe may support them-but at a far distance
DeleteThis hic town Lakewood works on the roads and drainage system 24/7 straight year after year disturbing the already unbearable traffic, and when it rains hard for 5 minutes, the whole town has flooded streets. What a bunch of goofballs!!! Lol
ReplyDeleteThe flooding will only get worse 1 typical tree absorbs over 2000 gallons in a year, there are almost no trees left, Do the MATH
ReplyDeleteIf one in a hundred TO coats have shatnez then it’s not a miut hamatzuy (even if one in 20 according to Rov Poskim). So why the “need” to check? May be a fine practice to always check but it’s not Halacha. I heard of rabbonim in Yerushalayim who say that in such a scenario it may even be assur to check as Baal Tashchis since the Torah doesn’t want us to look even at a miut that isn’t prevalent. Similar to how if you throw out a chulent with a drop of milk less than 1/60 then you are a koifer!(as per the pischei Teshuva)
ReplyDeleteThere are many areas in which people see things that "look" like a problem they scream etc. The problem is they aren't actual poskim. In fact there is a whole blog dedicated to issues which aren't necessarily issues if you know psak halacha.
DeleteR Shmuel Vosner told that blog owner R Yudel Shain he is better than your rabbis
