Divrei Chizuk, Hadracha Following The Tragedy

Following the tragic Petirah of 4 yeshiva Bochurim,as the families get up from shiva a collection of some of the chizuk hadracha and memories of the boys Z"L Yaakov Kilberg, Aharon Nosson Lebovitz, and Shloimy Cohen from Lakewood; and Chaim Simcha Grossman of S. Fallsburg

Rav Dov Kahan of Lakewood offers words of chizuk and nechamah following thr recent tragic crash. In a article published in the voice of Lakewood He emphasizes that the tragedy was entirely beyond human control and part of Hashem’s plan, even though it’s impossible for us to understand His cheshbonos. In Shamayim, everything is perfectly clear and just, while on earth we only see a small piece of the picture. Each tragedy has a purpose, even if it remains hidden from us. Rav Kahan recalls stories of great tzaddikim who suffered or died al Kiddush Hashem, reminding the community that such events are rooted in deep spiritual calculations beyond human grasp, and that Hashem’s justice is absolute even when painful.

The article reflects on how tragedies should inspire self-improvement within the community. He suggests focusing on ways to strengthen ourselves in areas like zechusim and ruchniyus. One idea is to be more mindful while driving  using travel time to do chesed (like offering rides or delivering packages), being courteous to others on the road, and using time in the car productively by listening to shiurim instead of wasting it. The goal is to turn everyday activities, like driving, into opportunities for growth and increased limud haTorah.

- Lev Rochel Bikur Cholim put out ads along with the Lakewood community expressing deep sorrow over the tragic passing of Shloimy Cohen z”l and Yaakov Kilberg z”l, two dedicated baalei chessed and bnei Torah who greatly impacted the lives of patients and families throughout Lakewood and beyond. The message offers comfort to the bereaved families and all of Klal Yisrael, with a heartfelt prayer that there be no more sorrow or tragedy.

-Remembering R’ Chaim Simcha Grossman z”l

- Interview  on Kol Mevaser Rav Avraham Sender Goldberger of  South fallsburg shared memories of Habachur Chaim Simcha Grossman z”l, the son of Rav Gershon Yeshaya Grossman shlita. R’ Chaim Simcha was his talmid in cheder, and, true to his name, he radiated both Chaim and Simcha throughout his life. He spent his final Shabbos at home in South Fallsburg,  Always known for his warm smile and kindness, he constantly sought to help others. Remarkably, just before his petirah, he purchased reflector tape to enhance the eruv in Woodbourne another act of quiet chesed.  Chaim Simcha was a true mevakesh ha’emes always eager to understand the source and reason behind everything he learned. His sincerity, joy, and dedication to others will long be remembered.

- Aharon Nosson Lebovits Z"L was a staff member at Oorah zone camp

The camp released a video with hadracha from Rav Chaim Mintz shlit"a regarding the Tragic Petirah of Aharon Nosson Lebovits Z"L Rabbi Simcha Bunim Londinski shlita
Article in Mishpacha:  The maspidim praised the niftarim for their deep love of mitzvos, Torah, and chesed, highlighting their eagerness to help others and sense of responsibility. They were dedicated, thoughtful, and uncompromising in their pursuit of truth and spiritual integrity, always challenging themselves and others respectfully. Teachers noted their drive for growth, questioning, and emes, while peers and mentors remembered them as sources of encouragement, comfort, and positivity.

Rabbi Shaul Sinsky of Pine River related how Shloimy Cohen would be mechazek people, and how a conversation with him always left the other feeling better, and uplifted. The rav mentioned that he had experienced that with the young bochur as well.

“Yaakov Kilberg just wanted to help everyone succeed,” remembered Rabbi Michoel Beren, director of Camp Yaldei Govoha. “He would do anything at any hour to help others.”
