Trump hits China with 100%tarriffs.  "It has just been learned that China has taken an extraordinarily aggressive position on Trade in sending an extremely hostile letter to the World, stating that they were going to, effective November 1st, 2025, impose large scale Export Controls on virtually every product they make, and some not even made by them. This affects ALL Countries, without exception, and was obviously a plan devised by them years ago. It is absolutely unheard of in International Trade, and a moral disgrace in dealing with other Nations. Based on the fact that China has taken this unprecedented position, and speaking only for the U.S.A., and not other Nations who were similarly threatened, starting November 1st, 2025 (or sooner, depending on any further actions or changes taken by China), the United States of America will impose a Tariff of 100% on China, over and above any Tariff that they are currently paying. Also on November 1st, we will impose Export Controls on any and all critical software."

  1. When is the Roberts carnival and what are its hours?

  2. I guess they're discussing if tes vav tes vav is mecheyev heseibah

  3. The poor middle class kids have no free chil hamoed event they have to watch their rich neighbors and rebbeims kids enjoy fancy trips while their parents can't afford to do the same.
There's something wrong with our systems

    2. There's something wrong with our systems

      1) What are you doing to fix it?

      2) What can you do to make your kids enjoy their Chag more?

As a kid, I usually rarely went anywhere which had a fee on Chol Hamoed.

      3) How can you bring yourself to enjoy the chag a bit more?

      Delete
    3. 1). I'm fixing it by taking my pick-ax to route 9 and widening it myself. (Classic example of Tzarchei tzibur)
2). Taking my kids to Orlando for Chol haMoed. Personally, I'm going to Aventura.
3). Donating a couple of bottles to my shul's (not so) secret Kiddush Club.
      3).

  4. Anonymous 9:46AM I agree and you raise the standards of everyone. The rich will have to go to Florida or better and klei kodesh are doing 6 flags what's the middle class supposed to do. They can't afford either of these type of trips????

    ReplyDelete
  5. Chasdei lev should expand to help those who can't afford just like they do with the rebbeim.
The same issue with clothing the tzedaka orgs give beautiful high end shoes and clothing which leaves the middle class kids complaining that everyone has it even rebbeins kids

    ReplyDelete

    1. No. That is not the solution. It's a beautiful thing to show children of kle kodosh that rebbeim are special and they are princes. Only issue is by bringing up their sheifos to six flags, something they would never be by, what are they gaining? Nothing. If cv supportors can't come up with funds to rent Hershey park, do you think their kids will be happy with the roberts carnival (which is beautiful and the nicest chesed).

    2. the tzedaka orgs give beautiful high end shoes and clothing which leaves the middle class

Have you ever reached out to them and asked them if you can purchase clothing from them at cost price, or at a highly discounted price? What level person within the organization did you speak or communicate with? What was their response?

Chasdei lev should expand to help those who can't afford

They are a specific organization, with a specific purpose. If they'd become a different type of organization, at some point their original purpose would be lost. Klall Yisroel would lose out.

    3. Have you ever reached out to them and asked them if you can purchase clothing from them at cost price, or at a highly discounted price? No! It is a very short distance from asking for discounts from Tzedoka organizations to asking for handouts. Don't start.

  6. Exactly!!!! When I was growing up and my father was a rebbi I knew good and well we just didn't have what everyone else had in all areas of life. Now the rebbi is the one who gives more support to his son in law than the middle class. I can't figure that out but that's what goes on.

    1. The rich are less intimidated by competition from rebbeim than middle class.
Therefore they rather everybody shift that way.

  7. This Simchas Torah we should be singing לבנימין אמר with extra kavanah.

We should also make a song on ולדן אמר.

We owe them nothing less for ending the war with the victory we hoped for.

    2. Yes now that it's obvious that he will win What is the point of opposing him and antagonizing him?? As dangerous as he might be it's at least a avenue to explore to try to negotiate with him... On another point it's not like we don't vote for politicians which oppose everything we stand for when it's worthwhile for us... I suspect some sour grapes since they will get what they want and we won't

    3. " not like we don't vote for politicians which oppose everything we stand for when it's worthwhile for us"
Who is the "We" & who is the "us"?
Or might you be insinuating that Mamdani is the deserved comeuppance for all those unscrupulous past communal faustian votes/Kol korehs coming home now to roost? On that we agree.
If we keep on the same trajectory it's bound to happen in NJ,Penn.,Md, too

When it was obvious eg Hamas was going to win in Gaza elections, should we have asked how are we "opposing him and antagonizing him?? As dangerous as he might be it's at least a avenue to explore to try to negotiate with him..."?
      Where/when does that become stale?

What this should make obvious is that they in Willy couldn't care very much about the collective Jewish community, but that again, isn't something new.

    4. What does the Shach say about giving honor and chanifa to an aino yehudi in a Sukkah??? Doing that act in the sukkah and calling him as if he's also from Yitzchok Ovinu and Yakkov Ovinu tells me that they erred in a big way.

  14. Why do you keep posting that Bingo has Hashanos sets for $1.99?
You should stand behind what you post.
I shlepped down to Bingo and there were only a few sets with ALMOST NO LEAVES on any of the sticks. (This was yesterday - Sunday - around 4 pm.)
There were quite a few people like me standing around who also felt tricked by you.
We even went to customer service to ask if more would be put out and were told no.
Please be more careful next year.
