Faa reports A recent public statement, Congressman Josh Gottheimer reaffirmed his opposition to federal school voucher initiatives that would provide tuition relief for families sending children to yeshivos and other private schools. The proposed program, supported by many in the Orthodox Jewish community, would allow parents to use public education funds for private religious schooling. Gottheimer called the plan "misguided" and pledged to fight against it in Congress. "Our public dollars should go toward strengthening our public schools, not diverting funds elsewhere," Gottheimer said. His stance puts him at odds with growing efforts in religious communities to secure equitable support for private education.
