The HUD rental assistance program is an unfair system. A select few receive huge subsidies while the rest of us get no help at all. The available funds should be distributed fairly and based on actual need and the available funds. not through a lottery that leaves most struggling families behind.

As for HUD, maybe the cost of housing will go down as another rug is pulled under investors feet.
As for fairness it should never be permanent unless everyone in the same category gets it. If not, seeing there is a waiting list, people should only get on for a limited time, & then the next person gets it. That together with it getting pulled (will help to lower the cost of housing) & remove people from the welfare trap.
However, If some people get tossed, going by the cost of rent & housing, I don't see how they will have a roof over their heads. I guess some will be forced out of town, others will survive on nisim.
