- Trump: The Boeing 747 is being given to the United States Air Force/Department of Defense, NOT TO ME! It is a gift from a Nation, Qatar, that we have successfully defended for many years. It will be used by our Government as a temporary Air Force One, until such time as our new Boeings, which are very late on delivery, arrive. Why should our military, and therefore our taxpayers, be forced to pay hundreds of millions of Dollars when they can get it for FREE from a country that wants to reward us for a job well done. This big savings will be spent, instead, to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Only a FOOL would not accept this gift on behalf of our Country. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Bottom line - what does it cost a kollel yungerman to attend the Grand Fiesta
ReplyDeleteAt least half the amount as his monthly kollel check. If you have a few bochurim and older boys it's gonna cost 600 dollars.
DeleteAdirei keep raising the ticket prices while pricing out the middle class. The ones going are the wealthy who could afford it and those who get free tickets
Shameful to make the Yungeman give up half his check for a measly bare boned sandwich, not to mention the incredible Bitul Torah
DeleteReb Schron is a tzadik this is why the Abishter gives him so much hatzlacha EVERY frum community benefits from this tzadikim. Even if the Zionists cut $ from the yeshivas in Eretz Yisroel the Schron family will be able to step up to counter the Zionists draconian cuts
ReplyDeleteI'm not a basher. I don't hate the system. I am an alumni of BMG. I strive because of the community of Lakewood. I'm not a hater. I love Lakewood and i Love the Torah that comes from the community. Its an Honor to live here and to do business here.
ReplyDeleteWe collectively have to do better. As a community, as a yeshiva, as a Mosad, as an example. This event overall is not the Ta'am of a yeshiva community. Its most definitely leading by example, but in all the worst ways.
no reason why the bachurim of all ages that attend have to see the Bal Habatim being honored with suites and catered meals. I wont go into more specifics.
We have to look deep deep into this, and ask is this what the Eibesheter is expecting of us. I would be surprised if you can give me a list of even 20 Yungerliet that if given the choice, to go to this event or to stay in yeshiva to learn, that they would choose to go to this event. It begs to ask, why are we doing this. Now throw tomatoes at me. I know i shouldn't be on hefkervelt. I shouldn't be on the internet etc. Let be real. This is not needed.
Don't be so humble. We all agree with you
Deletestrange...i've gone and never saw any of that
DeleteYet the daas torah sees it differently? Or are they just being led by those with the money?
Deleteim not a basher either and maybe i shouldnt be on hefkervelt; but if my info is correct the baal habatim or better yet " yidden giving their money to fellow yidden whom they dont even know - kefee harambam that the nosen and mekabel dont know each other. whatever the cost of the food for the suite lets say its $1000, i guess thats less than 5% of what he is giving , am i wrong . - it seems to me that you view a erliche ball habos like CHOMETZ- baal yeroeh ubaal yimotzay
ReplyDeleteIt's BH the 4th year making it and it's attended by all Roshei Yeshiva and bnei Hayeshiva to keep the support flowing for youngeleit coming from the tomchei Torah. It's a derhoibene maamad looking fwd
ReplyDeleteWhat do these words 'derhoibene maamad' even mean? It seems like gibberish to me.
Deletethe event is NOT a gimick to shlep money..these are 2 seperate mataros , financialy continuing to support torah in a generic form when u dont see the growth.. as opposed to a hachnasa kalla, bonei olam, rccs, new building..requires a big level of yiras shomayim ( as opposed to supporting a certain talmid chochom who u have a kesher to in bnei brak...etc..)
Deletemost people at the event feel its very worthwhile & a big chizuk bruchnius dok vetischach- the chassidim & admorim knew this years ago !!!
the maamad is silly and not "derhoiben" at all but if it gets donations to come in for adirei hatorah i guess it's worth it.
ReplyDeleteWhile the Yungerlite push each other to try to grab a turkey roll sanwich out if a cardboard box, the bale battim are busy eating bbq rack of lamb in their suites!! Lol
ReplyDeleteBaruch Hashem, now that the WZO elections are over, Hefkervelt's Adirei haters can go back to the Modern Orthodox position of ignoring the Daas Torah of the Lakewood Roshei Yeshiva.
ReplyDeleteI think that you are stretching the term Daas Torah at bit, aren't you?
DeleteIf a Rosh Yeshiva says that people should go to his Yeshiva's dinner - which is understandable - that all-of-a-sudden becomes "Daas Torah"?
No. The Lakewood Roshei Yeshiva evidently think this is a worthwhile event and encourage their followers to participate. If people obsessively badmouth the event as gashmiyus, bittul torah, goyish, etc. then yes, they are attacking Daas Torah.
DeletePleasecexplsin me what exactly is so derhoiben about consert with tuna bagel singers and stadium strobe lites???
ReplyDeleteas in everything , u see what u want to see, if u are unbiased ask 5 adults who went last year what were their hergeshim , what were the messages , did they appreciate the zemiros... and if for whatever reason this event is not an aliya for u than give your ticket to someone that will benefit
DeleteHergeshim are not the yardstick
DeleteDitto. For most people,it's pretty easy to produce an big atmosphere of Hergeshim
DeleteWhy dont they invite rich bale batim to fly to Lakewood and see the Yungerlite learning at bmg . Or make a consert for bale batim. But ehy forcevyungetlite to go???
ReplyDeleteSpoke to a youngerman in yeshiva it would cost him over $600 on tickets!
ReplyDeleteIt's a Chutzpah to charge this kinda money
Even if they bring Rav Yitzchok Silberstein
The kids have to suffer knowing that all the rich kids can go and they can't afford
Concerts were always בל יראה ובל ימצא in our camp. Not just Bnei Torah, but anyone who took his Yiddishkeit seriously.
ReplyDeleteThen the Dorash Dovid normalized it in Eretz Yisroel, and BMG imported it to America.
Sorry, but this maamad (word usually reserved for levayos) is not bseder.
It was such a avlah to see hoe they shlepped R Chiam besof yomav to the hofsteder event with wild strobes flashing, and pruste music blaring he looked like he had landed on mars
ReplyDeleteMamash a bizayon
Shmuess from R' Yitzchok Lichtenstein RY of Torah v'Daas about Zionism and the mesorah to stay away from the WZO at all costs: https://youtu.be/L8mG04YzrZY
ReplyDeleteAudio starts quiet but gets louder.
Where is his tradition from
DeleteLook how lehavdel the mir Yer honeted R Chiam and shlepped him to the Mir , there was musik and dancing but bederech kavod fit for Bney Torah
ReplyDeleteWhy woyld anyone in there right mind go to Lubitcher Rebbe kever on LogvBaomer?????
ReplyDelete
