- Jackson police. Checkpoint at south new prospect and county line. Checking seatbelts and inspections.

- Trump threatens 25% tariff on Apple phones made in India.

- Mishpacha Magazine has Andrew Cuomo on front cover. Voice of Lakewood has Josh Gottheimer on its front cover.

- The Campaign to elect Gottheimer is in full swing with billboard ads and communicated articles in local media. What they are not reporting to the Lakewood  community is that Josh Gottheimer spoke strongly against Tuition school vouchers for yeshivas and private schools. Gottheimers entire campaign message  is all about to Stop Donald Trump and go after his policies. A president who 90% of Lakewood just voted for, and Gottheimer  is pro Abortion and Lgbt rights.

- More on the kikar shabbos  tax abatement and the promised public park that didn't happen yet

- Lakewood township meeting last night was uneventful with only one email for public comment the meeting lasted 15 minutes and Mayor Coles announced he's taking vacation and will miss the memorial day parade.

-New Jersey would lose upwards of $3.6 billion a year in federal Medicaid funding, and more than 300,000 residents would risk losing their health insurance under a bill narrowly approved by the U.S. House of Representatives on May 22, analysts said
The bill includes work requirements for Medicaid applicants, eliminates tax credits that made insurance more affordable, and reduces federal matching funds for covering undocumented immigrants. Supporters say the bill protects Medicaid

- Trump: The European Union, which was formed for the primary purpose of taking advantage of the United States on TRADE, has been very difficult to deal with. Their powerful Trade Barriers, Vat Taxes, ridiculous Corporate Penalties, Non-Monetary Trade Barriers, Monetary Manipulations, unfair and unjustified lawsuits against Americans Companies, and more, have led to a Trade Deficit with the U.S. of more than $250,000,000 a year, a number which is totally unacceptable. Our discussions with them are going nowhere! Therefore, I am recommending a straight 50% Tariff on the European Union, starting on June 1, 2025. There is no Tariff if the product is built or manufactured in the United States. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Campaign to save tree in Lakewood The tall red oak that sits squarely in front of theEla Clark elementary school on quiet Manetta Avenue first gained attention in 2018 when students and staff launched a campaign for historic status. Now officials want it preserved as the township sells the property (APP)

- Chuck schumer responds to Trump banning international students from Harvard. "It is an egregious abuse of power by Trump to punish Harvard. It is a vendetta with no basis in fact or law, and it harms innocent student victims.
This is what authoritarians do to bully and intimidate those who resist their power and freely express their opinions and right to educate according to standards of excellence and inclusion."

- A major development in Yerushalayim has left the chareidi community shaken: A kollel yungerman, a father of ten young children, has been held in Shin Bet custody for over two days on suspicion of endangering state security—without legal representation and without being informed of the specific charges against him.
According to close family members, who spoke to Kikar HaShabbat, the avreich, who runs a Torah hotline called “Sod HaChashmal,” was arrested at his home by Shin Bet agents two days ago. He has since been held in a detention facility and subjected to continuous interrogation.(Matzav)

  1. I'm so glad that he's trying to crash the economy, take away our healthcare, and take bribes from Qatar. It's all working out exactly as I was hoping.

    1. What if our economy doesnt crash, and our healthcare doesnt get taken away (assuming you are legal, and you reported your income honestly)?
Will you apologize for your lies? Or will you just move on to the next lie?
Why do you hate Trump so much? Think about it. Be honest with yourself. Why does an otherwise (I assume) normal person like you suddenly get so worked up over Trump? Why does he drive you nuts? Why do you think about him every day and every night? Why are you so obsessed with him?

    2. How do you love Trump so much that you are obsessed with him? How is it that in our community we have people who think Trump can do no wrong and go ballistic if anyone criticizes him? Yes, Trump was the best candidate to vote for. But there are actually some frum people who think for themselves and only voted for him because he was the better of 2 evils. He actually isn't infallible and does some things which some people disagree with. People who are obsessed with Trump will not accept any criticism of Trump. It's become totally exaggerated!

    3. The reason we dislike Trump so much is because the policies he promotes are all so simplistic, dangerous, and short-term. We once thought that the government has a system of long-term strategy, with nuance and detail. Since he came along, an entire system of 'let's blow things up to hear the big bowwow' has been introduces as the best option forward.

    5. @Anon 10:22 and 11:15

No, we are not obsessed with Trump. We like his policies, especially on immigration and Israel. As soon as he turns on Israel, we will all turn on him.

But what bothers you so much is not Trump's policies per se, but rather the person himself. And it really drives you nuts that most of your friends and family like the guy, even though he's such a clown and ignoramus. You see, all we care about is his policies, and so it doesn't bother us that he's a clown. In fact, personally I came to the realization that the only way these policies will ever be implemented (against the very powerful deep state) in the US is through a clown, so I actually like that he's a clown. And that drives you insane.

Ask yourself why that is. Why do you really care that much??? Why are you allowing yourself to be driven insane by a clown?

  3. Why on earth are we even thinking of voting for Gottheimer?? He does not have the same interests as our community!!! Clearly someone or some people a small minority will be gaining from electing him!!!

    1. How can we inform the greater community so they are aware of this corruption??

      WHO IS THE VAAD?

Doesn't Weisberg work for the Township - is he on the vaad? Who else is on it?

We need someone to expose who is the Vaad and what their motives are. They must have ulterior motives as they go about fooling the Lakewood community that Gottheimer is a good choice for Lakewood when he is so forcefully against private schools and supporting private school vouchers.

And the fact that he supports gay marriages and other toeva is completely against what we stand for...

  4. Yes Im glad I voted for Trump taking achrayus back to the people . no freebies and abuse. We will be paying less taxes sson with tariffs and budget shrinking.

  5. People who are pro tariffs and think it will cut their taxes, don't realize that the additional they pay for the products will not be offset by the cuts, and will yield a net increase in costs. Trump's America first agenda has gotten too extreme and will not yield the results he is promising. We don't live in a vacuum and need to understand we are part of a world economy. Isolation is what countries like North Korea do. How has that worked out for them?

    2. Wow pretty radical all of a sudden we are like N Korea??? You got to be kidding?! Trump has got great succcessful people workging with him not the same old politician that have gotten the USA into trillions of debts that there really is no way to pay it back. So yes I am happy Trump is making changes that will have net positive results for all of us. Yes people should work to get government benefits. It isnt asking much.

  7. Lakewood wake up!
We are facing another danger as power hungry askanim are putting us in a Sakana by trying to have the Frum jewish community manipulate a national election risking to instigate our neighbors by fooling everyone to vote for one of the democrat candidates. This could backfire seriously against us.
This was never accepted such a move. They were bought off by the campaign to fool the Orthodox community and not say what the candidate stands for Hashchasa hates Trump and against vouchers.
We are in Galus and should act that way

  8. The VAAD has been consistently tarnishing its reputation by endorsing the same politician committeemen that keep engaging in these scandalous affairs again and again and again.

This latest Kikar Shabbos scam is just one more example of their misappropriation and dereliction of duty to their constituents.

So, can someone please give me even a half-rational explanation as to why the VAAD couldn’t care less about the hundreds of such shenanigans their endorsed candidates keep repeating?!

It sure seems as though the VAAD feels that as long as their specific wants are delivered, then these committee members can do whatever they freaken please, no matter how corrupt and shameful..

  9. All the other comments & news are irrelevant, we are now realing from a massiv tragedy here in town.
From the sad truth we all recognize this accident was a himmel zach, no one is to blame over here, we gota wake-up call.
However it is known the satmarer Rebbe Zatza"l didn't allow bochurim to drive. It was not only because of tznius & where they may go. I am sure it had a safety side to it. I believe in Eretz Yisroel & Europe UK Yeshiva bochurim are not allowed to drive at least during zman.
However, here in US, driving is not a luxury it is necessity, but it maybe time to add the same type of Curfew rules to driving like teenagers shouldn't drive between 10PM & AM. Just a sugestion this tragedy as mentioned above was an unavoidable accident. It seems like the bochurim were on the way to the netz minyan after a mishmar. ( just my guess).
I am in pain knowing the parents. The pain is much deeper than most could comprehend.

Two precious bochurim have been taken away from us, and others are fighting for their lives!
Why are we focsuing on trivialities like elections when we are in such trouble?!

  11. Thr askanim think that chances are a Democrat will be the next governor we might as well control the vote to determine the nominee that will be good for them. The gamble is if its one of the others and not Gottheimer they burned that bridge

  12. Mgreevey, Corzine and Murphy cancelled deer season to get rid of deer, to prevent accidents like this.
Two bucherim (and other two are seriously wounded, hopefully not permanently) are paying the price.
