  1. Fewer cars on Cross St. now than 2020? That doesn't pass the smell test as anyone who drives there daily will tell you.

  2. What a chutzpah from the township committee and Planning and zoning boards to completely ruin thr quality of life for Lakewood residents who sit every hour of the day in parking lots on the Lakewood roads. People are wasting hours in traffic losing money missing appointments and going berserk because of it. Yet they IGNORE US and work only for the developers and special interests of powerful connected people while causing tzaar for everyone else on a daily basis.

I got it all under control. You need to trust me as your township leader when I tell you things keep on getting better.

Even though the little people cannot understand the behind-the-scenes of what's going on, they should be comforted that I do. What's a small sacrifice on your part when it's all for the greater good? You need to change your perspective and just accept things as they happen. The less you think about the problems in town, the quicker they will go away and the happier you will be. And that's a campaign promise!

    2. Anon 1:41,

The committeemen are famous for brushing off people's legitimate concerns by responding that it's not their department. But as everyone knows, the committee still pulls all the strings behind the scenes. They even order the planning & zoning board attorneys what to do without even making the planning board members aware of what's going on. Don't fall for the oldest lame excuse in the book.

  8. The same people complaining here about all the traffic and developments, are the same people that complained when Jackson still outlawed developments. Remember when we called Jackson antisemitic for trying to stop developments?

    1. No shaychus at all Jackson is 4 times bigger in land than lakewood is. Jackson has infrastructure that can handle the growth for now and responsible boards.
Lakewood has gone from bad to worse with a corrupt government across the board he ignores the will of the people and treats them like cattle. There is no accountability for developing without proper planning ,Traffic is out of control and hundreds of residents are injured in daily car accidents on dangerous roads with thousands of bochurim walking with no proper sidewalks for them.

We no longer value human life but only the almighty dollar.

    2. Perhaps.but if anybody who disagrees even if they use rough language an antisemite
      Was Bill Hobday an antisemite?

  9. Huh? You are comparing Jackson not allowing any shuls or eruv etc to Lakewood township which has insane traffic already just keep on building more and more without any cheshbon whatsoever?? Seriously?

    1. For sure. That is how it begins usually

  10. Jackson was doing everything to make it impossible for frum people to live there. Everyone in Lakewood could fargin more houses and more shuls but things have to be done with a cheshbon. Asking for a shul, school or hall to have enough parking or how a road that is already complete gridlock will handle another 1000 cars is not crazy and doesn’t take rocket science to understand.

  12. All those who claim that building is an all or nothing proposal, are basically dooming their own argument.
If we had a responsible planning board, we could have the housing that we have, without the gridlock. Imagine Stirling Forest would not have been built as it is, and would have had to open up to Massachusetts Avenue. All subsequent developments on Route 9 would have had to follow this model. The traffic on Route 9 would be cut in half, shared with the relatively empty Massachusetts Avenue.
But even after our experience with Route 9, they did not learn their lesson, and continued approving cul-de-sacs and developments on Prospect Avenue, ignoring the gridlock that would cause. If no cul-de-sacs or circular roads would be permitted, we would have the same amount of housing, without the gridlock. But the developers make more money of cul-de-sacs, so who cares about anything else?

All Jackson, Howell, Tom's River and Manchester need to do is to ban cul-de-sacs. They then need to have independent traffic audits, forcing developers to pay for any infrastructure upgrades before breaking ground on any development or building project. They also need to join Lang's lawsuit and have the funding formula changed. If they do so, they will realize that each house built in town lowers their overall tax obligations, with the economy of scale that a population increase brings.

    1. Anon 4:25,

I am in full agreement with everything you stated. Our planning and zoning boards are missing just one key component, which can be summed up in just one word. That word is "smart". A smart person sees the future consequence of an action. These Boards clearly fail at that.

But what's even more concerning in Lakewood's case is that you don't even have to see what's going to happen down the road, because the dreadful consequences are already being exhibited for all to see. Congestion and gridlock have fast become the standard operation of our town thanks to the very unwise decisions by our very un-smart board members.

Though ultimately, the greatest blame is on the 5 bosses that appointed these people. Their names are Menashe Miller, Meir Lichtenstein, Ray Coles, Albert Akerman and in case anyone forgot about the last committeeman since nobody has seen him in years (even on zoom) - his name is Mike D'Elia. They will go down in infamy for the harm they've allowed the greedy investors to do to us.

  13. Dominion seems to have made out like bandits. Since 2020, they have added 700 districts to their previous 1100 (approx), not having lost any money in the process. They claimed that they stood to lose $600m from Fox's lies, but they did not lose at all.

But it's good that Fox were punished. Although all media distorts the truth, Fox set a new standard in outright bald-faced lies, without any apology at all.

  14. Why should they apologize? It was all true.
