A letter signed by American Roshei yeshiva and rebbeim of talmidim learning in Yerushalayim call out the sakana ruchnis and spiritual danger by the city of Yerushalayim for bringing Toavah and tumah into the holy city which is meant to cause a Michshol to the Yeshiva bochurim and Seminary girls. No specific details are mentioned. Besides for the chiyuv to be moche they call on anyone who can, to use their influence in stopping it.
ReplyDeleteHow can someone be mocheh about something when they have no idea what they are being moche about?
What is this about. Since no specifics are mentioned, how can anybody be moche? Moche what?
ReplyDeleteI'd guess this is about the city's various attempts at promoting tourism, nightlife, etc. But those are nothing new; I can't think of any new specific issue other than the light rail on Bar Ilan (which everyone normal has no issue with), and it doesn't seem like the letter is against that anyway. More likely this is just the standard practice of Peleg-sympathetic American RYs involving themselves in Israeli business because of some supposed "gezeira".
DeleteFrom the top of the article it seems that it is against the chareidi parties that partnered with the mayor of Jerusalem.
ReplyDeleteOk, I was moche. Loud and clear. Well done to me and a round of shoulder pats to all of me.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a South Fallsburg production, with the Shoel umeishiv, 7th grade Rebbe, Chabad Shliach and other characters signed on this.

ReplyDeleteThe ones that people in Yerushalayim are not aware of.
The truth is, a member of the coalition of the Israeli government is not responsible for the things that would go on anyway. That was the pesak of the Gedolei Yisroel forty years ago. Yes, some Briskers were very upset with Rav Shach then. But Rav Shach ignored them, joining Begin's coalition. This is the same story, and these signs aren't against today's members of the Yerushalayim municipality, but against Rav Shach.
I am moiche about any and all wrongdoing in Yerushlaiym and everywhere else.
