- NJ.com reports on Lamg Lawsuit: While the decision did not go the petitioners’ way, it nonetheless allows Lang to file an appeal with the Appellate Division of State Superior Court. Depending which way that appeal goes, Lang fully expects that either he or his adversaries at the state Department of Education will then appeal the case to the Supreme Court of New Jersey, which then will have the truly final say on whether Lakewood Public Schools and the state aid formula are meeting their obligation
under the state constitution Whether the funding formula is constitutional or not, few would disagree that it fails to adequately addresses Lakewood’s unique student population, which includes about 40,000 school-age children who are members of the township’s Orthodox Jewish community enrolled in private yeshivas. Only about 6,400 students are enrolled in Lakewood’s public schools. While most of the district’s state aid is based on public school enrollment, state law requires districts to pay the transportation and special education costs for private school students as well as their public school counterparts. see more here
For some reason they closed James in the direction going from Route 9 to Williams all the way from the 9. Maybe just to make a morning traffic jam?
ReplyDeleteI listened to all the speeches but still don't understand clearly how this community will be any different then any other chareidi American places.
ReplyDeleteFor every one Jewish customer boycotting Ben and Jerrys, there will be 1000 others davka going out to buy it.
ReplyDeleteThis is something that even the non frum are riled up about. So it is actually bigger than you think. Even many evangelicals and blacks are Israel supporters.
DeletePerhaps, but they will gain far more street cred - and market share - with the "woke" contingent, than they will lose from the evangelicals and black Israel-supporters referenced.
DeleteHad this discussion with my wife last night, and wanted to know if it's accurate, or if I'm just being a kvetch:
ReplyDeleteIs it within the purview of the various - and numerous - schools handing out these boxes, to simply offer some sort of food voucher for the prospective recipient to use as they please for foodstuffs at local stores that accept EBT/Benefits cards ?
Well, does the government allow that? It doesn't seem likely based on the way the program has been set up.
DeleteAsk Gourmet Glatt and Seasons how many pints of B & J's ice cream they sell on on average day.
ReplyDeleteI suspect the number is under 6.
Outside of this symbolic "protest", the financial impact on B&J's bottom line is less than inconsequential.
I need to know about the Night out against Crime. When is it happening this year?
ReplyDeleteThey can't cancel it, what will happen with all of the criminals? Crime is up all over the country, and I am sure it is because they cancelled the night out against crime last year. Not long after that cancelation, the democrats stole an election. Who knows what they will do if there is no night out against crime this year?
Lobby your politicians, and make sure the night out isn't cancelled. We need free pizza, burgers, franks, and rides. That is the only way we will stop this crime nightmare.
With all these vaccinated Democrats coming down with Covid, one wonders: does the vaccine not work? Or are they lying about being vaccinated?
ReplyDeleteHave to boycott all Unilever products.
ReplyDeleteThey have 400 brand names, so it's a little tricky.
Hellmann's mayonnaise, Dove brand cream, Axe deodorant stick (I'm told teenagers love it), Breyers ice cream (not CY so doesn't apply to Lakewood), Suave And other shampoos. Check their website and Wikipedia for other brands.
