Let’s not be swayed by the new “achdus” PR campaign urging everyone to vote in lockstep. It’s clear that the vaad and askanim coordinated this effort each following the other in a rubber-stamped campaign. The endorsement of Jack only came because the olam was already planning to support him, regardless of what the vaad, igud, or other self-appointed councils said.
ReplyDeleteIf these groups truly cared about representing the entire community, they would create a vaad and leadership structure that reflects all voices not just a select few.
We haven’t forgotten the recent failed Gottheimer campaign, which was another example of this top-down approach.
Let’s make sure the politicians know that our votes come from the people not from the vaad or any organization trying to claim credit. We’re voting for what’s best for the community, not to serve anyone’s political agenda.
If Ciatarelli wins, who will reap the benefits? Whom will he pay for his win? The public? Or the private projects of some of the nameless people behind this campaign?
ReplyDeleteHe promised to cut taxes. And unnecessary expenditures. That's money in our pocket right there
DeleteThough I agree the bureaucracy in state education department will resist a fair settlement of the Alcantara case. And fight elimination of Abbott districts preferences, and Mount Laurel preferences.
Don't too involved in politics, it will leave you bitter & unhappy. Do the best hishtadlus you can by voting & then forget about it.
ReplyDeleteWhy is Avi Schnall not following daas Torah and endorsing Jack Ciattarelli??
ReplyDeleteThat is the will of the entire community why is he silent?
He promised that he's not a real Democrat and only did so to join the majority in the assembly, if so why won't he publicly endorse Jack the same way he expects everyone to follow daas Torah and vote for him.
Probably for the same reason Meir Lichtenstein never endorses Menashe Miller.
DeleteIt's quite simple, dont need Semicha or a degree The Democratic Party is the Nazi party and we are living in 1938 read history, gain intelligence ask any of your surviving Bubies and Zaidys
ReplyDeleteWhere have all these organizations been all year?
ReplyDeleteWhile our community has struggled with poor quality of life, high taxes, unaffordable housing, unbearable traffic, and the daily fight just to make ends meet they’ve been silent. Families can’t afford tuition, some businesses are barely surviving.
Yet suddenly, as elections approach, they reappear pretending to care, making promises, and acting like they’ve been with us all along. But where were they when we needed them most?
We deserve leaders who stand with the community every day, not just when they need our votes.
They were busy spending our money on their projects, not our projects.
DeleteNot widening the nine, not tuition credits, but yes raising our electric bills. Doling out tax credits to their friends.
Allowing Palestinians (unfortunately including Palestinian-affiliated Jews) to harass our Jewish students in state colleges; cut their government funds and find the situation change overnight, no "academic freedom" baloney (there is no academic freedom or any constitutional right to government funding)to government funding.)

DeleteBecause your family, classmates, & neighbors are sheeple.Go confront them
Don't be fooled they would endorse Mikie Sherril if they felt the kehila would vote for her. They are scared of losing power and having the politicians see that they can't deliver, that is the only reason they are endorsing Jack
ReplyDeleteLike that Gottheiner fiasco of theirs.

Our wise ones keep selling us out for a few shekels to supports ONLY what they perceive as good for a select FEW and the MAJORITY suffer year after year.Is this the way of Torah??????
ReplyDeleteBrilliant strategy, remaking Avi into a Democrat, now an Ardent supporter of the Nazi Party
ReplyDeleteGolly gee, AK what do you make of all this, after all you were once the Great driving force behind all this madness
ReplyDeleteWho took down those "vote jack" lawn signs on Madison Ave?
ReplyDeleteDOJ monitors have right to supervise vote-counting.

ReplyDeleteI'm very jealous of our murderous cousins in the Middle East, they Have Achdus in their mission to Destroy us. and look at us , so Fractured and divided
As you want us to build achdus for evil, that won't get us anywhere good
Deletecf.10 shevatim
Or tower of Bavel
DeleteThank you Rav Helberg for the beautiful divrei chizuk & hisorerus. Standing room only.
ReplyDeleteI find the Avi Schnall ads to be clearly showing how empty he is of any substance! There is nothing in his ad about lowering taxes, lower tuition, improving the traffic situation, lowering inflation etc. etc. All it says is "VOTE AVI" as "to take action, define the future, shape tomorrow". It sounds like Artificial Intelligence - really!! Nothing of substance!
ReplyDeleteCan everyone please publish all their concerns about the Township and Schnall to the weekly papers today or tomorrow to be published THIS week!!!!!!

It's very telling that all these letters from vaad and Jewish councils they didn't bother to apologize for not delivering on their empty promise of tuition relief last election
ReplyDeleteThey ignore their lies and hope you are foolish enough to continue listening to them while they use you like a pawn in their power games
I see no signs of wisdom and TORAH,just tremendous Gaiiva ( clearly this past year has set records) and Greed and No One Seems to see how basically we've thrown the Torah into the Gutter and yet All our Gentile Friends see it so clearly
ReplyDeleteReality Check : This is the classic Tale of "Futility of ALL Futilities" I clearly see a sizeable group with intelligence, maturity and Life experience However, we are Hopelessly outnumbered by a HERD mentality that is constantly drinking the "KoolAid" doled out by the wise ones. For an explanation on "Kool aid" look up Jim Jones and read in Horror
ReplyDeleteThis is Tragic /Comedy. We're constantly shooting ourselves in the foot
ReplyDeleteI voted mostly Republican and Avi Schnall for assembly. I think he's done quite good for the short time he's been there.
ReplyDeleteWhy would anyone vote for him again?
DeleteHe helped his handlers with nursing home relief.
He supported to’eva by refusing to vote against Pride Month in June, and once again backed that same immoral bill.
He introduced a bill allowing Chemed to take even more money from JerseyCare patients charging per item, per visit costing taxpayers millions.
He proposed a daycare bill that will add another $30 million in taxes, while middle-class Lakewood families continue paying outrageous amounts for daycare because of it.
He spoke about tuition relief just to get elected, even though there was never any realistic chance of it passing in New Jersey.
He remained silent while his Democrat friends in Trenton refused to condemn Hamas.
He stayed quiet about the corrupt local leadership in Lakewood who raised taxes and destroyed residents’ quality of life.
He did nothing while the LSTA took over busing charging high monthly fees while failing to provide proper service, leaving kids on buses for over an hour each way.
He voted to increase the gas tax.
He took credit for state funding and improvements that were already approved for Lakewood before he was even elected.
He took our Republican voting bloc and delivered it straight to the Democrats.
And let’s not forget his behavior during COVID: as head of Agudah of NJ, he worked to prevent yeshivos from reopening, while standing by Phil Murphy as he targeted the Lakewood Orthodox community.
So again why would anyone vote for him a second time?
Sam,
Deletefor example ??
How does schnall explain his anti Torah tax and spend voting record??
DeleteWhy should people reelect him after all that he did
only one path ,everyone Else excluded
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Be Blessed
ReplyDeleteVote Moshe Raitzik for Fire commissioner
ReplyDeleteThe vaad and Lakewood shopper didn't even mention that he's on the ballot
A frum resident who dedicated his time for the tzibbur
It's sad tbe the ihr haTorah has this black stain of sheker and corruption when it comes to elections
ReplyDeletehow can there be such hashchasa with the approval of daas Torah????
