Israel At War Tuesday August 19

Israel at war day 683

- A Spokesperson for the Qatari Foreign Ministry at a press conference: "The ceasefire proposal is the best option that can be offered at the moment and includes a path to reach a comprehensive agreement. We are still waiting for the Israeli response to Hams’s acceptance of the proposal. There is no set timeframe for a response, but we have heard that Israel is examining the matter and we hope for a quick and positive response"

- A Hamas terrorist who took part in the kidnapping of former hostage Yarden Bibas during the October 7 onslaught was killed in an Israeli airstrike earlier this month, the IDF and Shin Bet announce.

- The UN claims in its official data that 3,553 trucks have entered Gaza since May. The reality: the IDF allowed more than 9,200 trucks to enter the Strip, 2.5 times more.
Reason for the discrepancy: the UN chooses to count only the trucks delivered by its own agencies and a few aid organizations working with it, omitting aid delivered through other actors in the humanitarian system, including various countries, additional international organizations, the private sector, air drops, and GHF distribution hubs.(Amit Segal)

-Netanyahu on Australian PM:  “history will remember Albanese for what he is: A weak politician who betrayed Israel and abandoned Australia’s Jews.”
Following decision to bar Religious Zionism MK Simcha Rothman from visiting the country.
Along with former justice minister Ayelet Shaked and pro-Israel activist and influencer Hillel Fuld. Canberra, has announced that it will recognize a Palestinian state in September at the United Nations General Assembly

- IDF Plans Gaza Operation: Strategy to Be Presented to Defense Minister
The IDF will present a plan today for capturing Gaza, relying mainly on regular forces and mobilizing 100-130,000 reservists. The operation involves seizing and encircling the city within two months, with forces staying longer to clear out terrorists and weapons. The plan is set for September, pending political approval.

- Heavy Israeli artillery fire targeted Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood overnight as IDF tanks advanced from Zeitoun, a neighborhood southeast of Gaza City. The strikes began yesterday afternoon following the army’s push deeper into southern Zeitoun.

- Egyptian source to the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar: "Cairo sees the proposals to send foreign or Arab forces to Gaza as nothing more than an attempt to impose a fait accompli that harms its influence on the Palestinian issue." According to him, Egypt, with Qatar's support, is pushing for the establishment of a 'Community Support' committee, supervised by the Palestinian Authority, which will take over the management of the Gaza Strip after the war ends.

- Some 370 trucks carrying humanitarian aid entered the Gaza Strip yesterday through the Kerem Shalom and Zikim crossings.

    1. Yes, others should fight to protect you and your slacker children.

Why don't they go to yeshiva in America, or Europe? Even the US government will (partially) subsidize them, cause BMG and others have political pull.
