  5. Heavy traffic on RT 17 is part of the litvish messorah of over 50 years. Even Rav Aaron z"l had to wait in traffic.
Today the RYs fly up there.

Of course, there's no messorah for potato kugel. Noodle kugel, yes. But free, definitely not.

  6. Did Rav Landau visit Johnathan Pollard? Any other charedi gadol (except Rav Aviner). Even Rav Yosef (Jr-1) visited.

    1. Huh? Any sort of comparison?

      1) Pollard was in the US.

      2) While what was done to Pollard was unjust and greatly exceeded the crime, it still does not compare.

      A) Pollard did commit a crime, albeit a low level one.
      B) The USA did not declare war against Judaism with a stated goal of destroying yeshivos. They based their ruling on a 'secret' memo from Casper Weinberger.

      C) The bachurim have done nothing wrong. There's no pretense that they've anything wrong.

    2. A). No comment -- old story. But it was done as an antisemitic act.
B). Israeli government not looking to destroy yeshivot. Just looking for bachurim to serve, just like rest of country. They even accommodated them with special programs.
C). The bachurim refused to register. That is very serious. Try doing that when US had a draft. Or in Switzerland Belgium or Holland which has a draft.
