  1. No surprise. Chassidish rabbonim have already shown in Williamsburg and boro park by allowing chillul Shabbos that they have no idea how hilchos eiruvin work. Unfortunately they will burn in Gehinnom for the countless aveiros they have permitted by this mistaken ruling. The satmar, pupa and klausenberg rebbes zatzal are crying over this perversion of halacha.

    1. @11:37,

      1) Do you agree that according to the Aruch Hashulchan Lakewood isn't a Reshus Harabim?

      2) Do you agree that Lakewood has less than 600,000 people?

      3) Do you agree that according to the Klausenberger Rebbe (whom you quoted) Lakewood isn't a Reshus Harabim (because there are street lights, impeding traffic).

      4) Do you agree that according that according to many Achronim, including the Shulchan Aruch Harav, any area surrounded by a Tzuras Hapesach isn't a Reshus Harabim D'orraisa?

      5) Do you agree that according to Rav Asher Weiss Shlita, Lakewood isn't a Reshus Harabim because the SIDEWALKS aren't 16 amos wide?

      6) Do you agree that according to many Achronim 600,000 is based on per street, something which doesn't exist in Lakewood?

      7) Do you agree that according to many Achronim, including the Chazon Ish, most of Lakewood isn't a Reshus Harabim because the houses are too close together, making it Omaid Merubah ahl Haparutz.

In the mean time, continue sending your sons to dormitories which is against an EXPLICIT halacha in Shulchan Aruch that nobody argues with.

    2. would have been better without 5
there is no halacha in shulchan aruch against dormitories

    3. If I came with a psak from my Rebbe, you would tell me you have your own Rabbanim. Why would I be forced to listen to yours? Even R Moshe made it clear regarding eruvin that other rabbanim can go against his shita. The eruv was built for chassidim by chassidim. No one is forcing you to carry. And you know well, yesh al mi lismoch even among non chasidish rabbanim.
If we are going to go back to R Aron, we would need to close most stores and restaurants in Lakewood. R Aron never wanted such a huge yeshiva and wanted kollel for a few select chosen.
There are also non chasidish eruvin crossing County Line and Cross street, which R Forscheimer says R Aron wouldn't allow.

    4. I'm not 11:37 but
      (1)No
      (3) I don't know what the Klausenberger Rebbe held but the in the midbar there certainly were halachos about who has the right of way impeding traffic
(5)I don't know what Rav Asher Weiss holds but I'm confident there were no sidewalks 16 amos wide in the midbar.
      (7) Even assuming we would hold like the Chazon Ish I don't agree that Lakewood is Omaid Merubah ahl Haparutz.
Where is this EXPLICIT halacha in Shulchan Aruch that nobody argues with?

    5. The vast majority of options hold that if a large road eg route 9 is connected to a route where 600000 travel it is assured midoraysa to carry. The klausenberger rebbe states clearly in divrei yatziv that if some residents don’t hold of the Eiruv it is forbidden to carry there. Rav Asher Weiss is rejecting a clear rashba and chasam Sefer when he came with his theory of sidewalks being the barometer do all major poskim disagree. The Charon ish was stating a major chiddush in theory which he never acted on and was rejected by Rav moshe Rav elyashiv satmar rov and others. In conclusion the “poskim” who permitted this string are going against the strongly held opinions of all reputable poskim of the past three thousand years as they’ve already done in brooklyn with smug expressions on their faces laughing about issurim dioraysa. Sad! Mechalaleha mois yom us and they will be chayev sekila when we have a Sanhedrin. Tuna bagel Ra banim who disrespect Torah!

    6. Also Rt 9 is not straight, but curved and rounded (see definition of strateya).

    7. Street lights making a difference in hilchos reshus harabim is a mockery of halacha. Reb Moshe's polite debunking of that 'sevara' is further proof to his elevated middos.

    8. Who cares if the issur is de'oraysa or derabanan? (No. 4)

      Delete
    9. The foremost chassidish poskim back in Europe as well as of the previous generation ( satmar klausenberg pupa rebbes Rav moshe bick debritzin Rav etc) held that it assur to carry in such a circumstance. This is not a chassid litvak debate but rather fourth rate ra banim disregarding first rate poskim

      Delete
    10. Not a chassidic-litvak debate, yet every shtetl in the alte heim had an eruv except in Lita (and except in Liozna, but that's another story.)

      Delete
    11. If you don't know where the Shulchan Aruch says dormitories are assur, you shouldn't be criticizing Chassidim for carrying in the Eruv.

      Delete
    12. 1:50 -- he meant traffic lights not street lights. Per Divrei Yatziv, whose chassidim are based in the Evergreen area

      Delete
    13. And it is still a mockery of halacha. It makes no sense at all.

And no, the Shulchan not only does not say dormitories are assur, it actually says that they are muttar.

      Delete
    14. I would like to know when the Debretzener Rav became Chassidish?

      Delete
    15. seriously, that dormitory thing kind of satirizes all your other arguments.

      Delete
    16. 6:33 PM I'm not impressed with your efforts to gaslight. Either tell us where this halacha that says dormitories are assur or you are confirming that you are lying. Chachmie Lublin was very proud of its dorm at a time most Litvish Yeshivas did not have them.

    18. Interestingly enough, I looked up the Shulchan Aruch, with the נושאי כלים, and found that there is nothing wrong with dormitories. Nothing at all. Some people need to get their heads out of the gutter.

      Delete
    19. I figured that would be siman the in shulchan orech that you would be distorting. If you believe that it says dormitories are assur then you should really spend some time learning how to learn before sprouting off your "piskei halachos". Even assuming dormitories constitute יחוד זכר (they don't) try to understand the difference between יש להתרחק and an EXPLICIT halacha in Shulchan Aruch that nobody argues with.

      Delete
    20. As a matter of fact, יש להתרחק means an actual din, not merely a Midaas Chassidus, see nosei keilim there. According to halacha, one should distance himself from yichud. Dormitories are yichud. Would you be OK with coed dormitories?

      Delete
    21. No, the nos'ei keilim write that this halacha is not relevant in our times.

Dormitories are not yichud, who ever thought they were?

Someone who thinks that bochurim only dormitories are like co-ed dorms needs serious psychological help. Go for help, I am sure it is available.

      Delete
    22. Please read the Nosei Keilim carefully. They say that in a place where mishkav zachar is uncommon, such as medieval Europe, it is merely a midaas chassidus, but a place where it was more common, such as Muslim countries it is forbidden "mideena."

Where we live is a thousand times worse (certainly not better!), than Islamic countries during the times of the Beis Yosef. As such, all-male dorms according to halacha are as forbidden as coed dorms (there is yichud in dorms, even in areas where they are makpid to have four bochurim per room, as oftentimes bochurim go away for the night due to a simcha or flu etc.).

  2. It's the tuna bagel Satmar Kloisenberg and Pupa that are the ones carrying!!! Lol

  3. The big anticipated break in Lakewood between the litvish and chasish oilum is the EIRUV. BMG thought they will be able to overrule it, it aen't going to happen.

    1. The biggest break between the Litvish and Chassidiah appears to be right here on Hefkervelt! I have never seen such open animosity toward Chassidim as I see in these comments. And I am a born and bred Misnaged.

      Delete
    2. The animosity is not toward most chassidish. It is toward the tuna bagels who laugh at halacha and are just culturally frum.

    3. 1:57 They weren't taking over in dem older teg.
& they weren't allowed to exhibit themselves like now
R Shneur wouldn't allow them to wear streimlach in public

    4. In short they're now portzei geder

  4. Round abouts are so old school and dangerous. Just what Lakewood needs!!! 😆 Lol

    1. Roundabouts in our area were removed slowly but surely years ago because they were said to be dangerous. (Who remembers the roundabout near the Freehold Raceway or the one on Route 70?) But their reputations have improved lately. Just look at how beautifully they work in Yerushalayim.

      Delete
    2. They're planning a roundabout for County Line and Kennedy by the Wawa.
Of course, it'll take five years.

  5. The more signs that go up around Lakewood, not to make laege Eurivin, the more people carry, use strollers, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Can I call Sanz to extend the eruv to County Line Road?

    ReplyDelete
  7. County Line Road already has an eruv which was also not approved by many Lakewood rabbonim and Roshei Yeshiva. There are citizens of Lakewood now, who listen to other rabbonim. I'm personally an Old Time Lakewooder and I stick to the old ways. I even miss the old days terribly. However, I know there is a new reality and people are allowed to listen to other Rabbonim. It's not like they're carrying without an eiruv ch"v. And rabbonim with whom you don't agree are not going to Gehinnom ch'v!

    1. I meant from Evergreen to County Line.

And to quote Rav Moshe, don't complain about those who carry in the (old) Manhattan eruv, cause "talyah beAshlei Ravrevi, meaning Rav Henkin.

      Delete
    2. & yet he refused to tolerate that excuse when it came to the Brooklyn eruv

      Delete
    3. Brooklyn is something else. Plenty of big poskim in Brooklyn. Debretziner for one, he wrote a thick choveret in it. (Rav Moshe's friend the Amshinover was actively involved in the eruv, as soon as he came from Shanghai to the Lower East Side.)

Lubavitch doesn't believe in eruvin, why don't you bring them here, they'll put a stop to it. (Their reason is also pretty bad, cause Liozna had two train stations (so does Crown Heights), can be easily solved, just put a tzurat hapetach around each station entrance.)
