- Hurricane Erin has significantly grown and strengthened, posing a threat to the Jersey Shore with high surf, dangerous rip currents, and potential coastal flooding expected over the coming days; even though the storm is not expected to make landfall in New Jersey, its impacts are still being felt along the coastline.

- A camp van was involved in a serious head-on crash Wednesday afternoon at County Line Road and Brook Road in Lakewood, injuring multiple people. Hatzolah ambulances responded, treating and transporting 14 patients, including 8 to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. One young patient lost several teeth in the collision.

- When will Erin pass by New Jersey?

Erin will be close to New Jersey between Thursday night and Friday morning, Aug. 21 and 22. By that time, it will pass hundreds of miles away from New Jersey's coastlines as a Category 2 hurricane, forecasters predict. The peak of Hurricane Erin's effects will be felt on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service, Most of its impact will be confined to coastal areas, where a high risk of rip currents will continue until Friday.

- The Trump administration has proposed implementing a two-year time limit on federal rental assistance, including Section 8 housing subsidies,HUD  which currently have no time limits or work requirements. This proposal aims to encourage self-sufficiency among recipients. Additionally, the administration has considered extending work requirements to individuals receiving housing subsidies, requiring able-bodied adults to work, volunteer, or participate in job training for at least 20 hours weekly to maintain benefits.
