The solar industry in New Jersey is already grappling with high interest rates and rising material and labor costs. Passage of A5460 would be a devastating blow, further destabilizing the market and erasing years of clean energy progress. We urge the New Jersey General Assembly to reject this bill in order to protect solar customers, restore trust in clean energy programs, and preserve the solar industry in our state. sign HERE

  1. Quoting” These SGOs would then provide scholarships for a range of educational expenses, including private school tuition.” The fact that in our kehillos, our SGOs, specifically Agudah & their SGO, are not stating unequivocally that it would fund “SOLELY TUITION” is very concerning. As soon as funds begin to be allocated to other school programs, we know how that siphons off money from the klal, as is seen with therapy programs via schools for example.
On Agudah webcast available to the public two weeks ago, Schnall could not even state that it would “primarily” address and “fund tuition scholarship”. Why are the regular folk constantly on the losing end?

  2. Unfortunately, the Chilonim and the Daati Leumi would rejoice if all the Haredim leave, so I doubt that it's much of a threat. Also, I don't know which frum community is willing to host so many Haredim joining their communities.

I mean, think about it. When Rav Moshe Hillel came he raised a relatively-measly 100 million. It sounds like a lot of money, but it's a mere HUNDRETH of what some INDIVIDUAL gvirim are worth. The frum gvirim in America aren't interested in supporting Israeli Yeshivas. We prefer that the secular Israelis give their money to Yeshivas. So if the frum Israelis come to America, who will support their Yeshivas? They will be back right where they started. Instead of going to serve in a secular army, they will go to work in a secular corporation.

    1. Out of curiosity, can you please name gvirim who are legitimately worth 10 BILLION?

    2. That remains false. Contra to what you've imbibed &/or what they'll proclaim.
They would go nuts actually if the charedim get up & leave.
(Similar potentially to how many mainstream antisemites would go bonkers, if in spite of their purported wishes, orthodox jews would pick up & actually leave.
Both) have subliminal need(s) for that Other to hang around to be abused.

A charedi engineer at IAI discovered as much in an private survey. The secular [,& DL though they're naturally even more loathe to admit] need the charedim to give some meaning to their own identity or lack thereof

  6. Ciattarelli is a weak candidate He was literally handed a win last time with all the school board elections taking place the same time (that's how Ed Durr won) and still he lost! Remember his last campaign - all he attacked Murphy on was taxes - (as if any politician is going to lower our taxes) he did not resonate with with voters There were so many real issues that would've resonated with voters from Covid disasters to bag and straw bans etc. Instead it was taxes - Weak

He should be ahead of others that won in credit to their filthy campaigning.

  8. Anyone has any more details on the plan to merge Adirei Hatorah and Keren Olam Hatorah?
So far, all I've been able to find out is that it's not so much a merger as an expansion of Keren Olam Hatorah at the expense of Adirei Hatorah. (I doubt the administration of Adirei Hatorah wuld be so keen to the idea.) I also found this, though I don't know how accurate every detail is, as they seem to acknowledge themselves.

  9. Wondering if this is standard operating procedure that a hecsher , here KCL plasters teh entire town that they are not giving a hechsher on Ottimo. Like there is some problem when all it is Ottimo is switching hechserim. What right does a hechser have to be mafsid an establishment when all they are doing is switching a hecsher. Am I missing something?

    1. If it was a switch, the establishment would have announced the new supervision first without having to close for a couple days

      Delete
    2. Yes, that is standard. If a hechsher takes off their hechsher from any establishment for any reason it is their duty and our right to be notified all around.

  10. So is New York getting involved in our education or is it over?
Are they adding funding and disqualifying others?

  11. Perhaps a petition should be arranged in New Jersey to keep the state out of our education before it's after saving us, canceling worse laws. Equivalence is not something we want.

    1. NJ State is not keeping their hands on private education.
      Perhaps they should.
Imagine how restaurants won't be able to afford expensive hashgschot, among other higher cost of living expenses.
