  2. The Israeli model shows that these lockdowns didnt work. Locking everyone up just pushes the can down the road. The best way of dealing with it is the way Sweden did it; protect the vulnerable and let the virus pass till you have herd immunity or till the virus dies out on its own.

    2. Sweden has a higher death rate than both Israel and the US, is that what you want?

      Delete
    3. Sweden is done with it while Israel is still seeing new surges, so you can't count till it's all done. Also, death rate is irrelevant, it's infection rate. Israel can treat covid better than Sweden.

      Delete
    4. Sweden is not done with it (please show evidence if you have information otherwise), and the primary person behind this strategy has just expressed regret at the amount of deaths, being some of the highest (percentage wise) globally.

Nobody is perfect, but clearly we'd have been much worse had we followed Sweden.

    5. anon 2:33 on the contrary YOU show us that the lockdown helped at all. And for every link that they are worse off there are ten others that they are doing better.

    6. anon 3:56,

Sure, I'm happy to. In the link above that I posted, https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality it states

Israel 3.26 deaths per 100,000 people
Sweden 43.88 deaths per 100,000 people

Those are the raw numbers, is the death rate in a pandemic a good indicator of whether a strategy is working or is there another metric you'd like to use?

      Delete
    7. anon 4:43 yes we know Israel had a lower deathe toll. But NY also locked down and had a higher death toll. England locked down and had a higher death toll. And now that Israel is reopening the numbers are going up, ( hopefully not drastically) so lockdown didnt work. Meanwhile try to compare apples to apples ;Sweden to countries that locked like us engmand spain and theres very little difference.

    8. Deaths per 100k has nothing to do with lockdowns, you need to look at infections transmitted per positive case. Whether people die once they're infected doesn't change if they're on lockdown. Death rate has to do with the age of infected patients population, underlying conditions, and access to medical care. But continue to use unrelated metrics to further your cause.

  5. Attention Lakewood store owners.

We, the residents of downtown Lakewood, fear for our lives. Please allow the rioters to ransack your stores on Clifton Ave to satiate their destructive impulses, and hopefully they'll stay on Clifton and not venture to the surrounding residential areas.

    Thank you!

  7. Rabboisei WAKE UP WR ARE SITTING DUCKS.ITS TIME FOR THE COMMUNITY TO PUSH BACK AGAINST THE ASKANIM AND TOWN LEADERSHIP WHO ARE PUTTING US ALL IN DANGER FOR NO REASON. THEY CAN'T GUARANTEE A SAFE PEACEFUL PROTEST WHILE PEOPLE ARE STUCK AT HOME EATING A SHABBOS SEUDA. WE MUST TAKE TO THE STREETS AND CONFRONT THE LEADERSHIP FACE TO FACE.

THE POLICE ARE TELLING STORE OWNERS TO EMPTY THEIR CASH REGISTERS AND REMOVE VALUABLES. THIS IS NO FEAR MONGERING ITS REAL. DONT LET LAKEWOOD LEADERSHIP BULLY YOU ANS LULL YOU INTO A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY WHEN THERE A SERIOUS THREAT. DEMAND A PUBLIC MEETING NOW AND ASK LET THEM TELL YOU THAT YOU HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR LET THEM HEAR THAT OUR VOICES MUST BE HEARD AS WELL.

  8. The leadership does what's best for them. The people are just little ants who pay high taxes and sit in heavy traffic. The rock festival at the blue claws ruined people's life for 3 days no one cared.

    1. I spoke up and I forced them to stop the 2 day rap festival that was supposed to be right after that. They were going to have 2 days of hardcore gangster rap? Where were the fans supposed to sleep? It doesnt make it any better that I had to literally make speeches and scare them into cancelling the event. They always show their true colors. They dont care about us or our safety.
Your mail in ballots should be in your homes. Please vote for my name only on the township committee. Be assured this will never happen again

The Vaad and public officials praises a guy who calls for Jewish businesses to be destroyed .. they showed their true colors they had no problems with all those comments on social media they should all resign from their public positions in shame. The chutzpa how they take advantage of Lakewood residents for their own benefit with PR stunts that hurt the communinty.

  14. Why is the board attorney making political, self promoting videos on the taxpayer dime. Last I checked, not a single person ever cast a vote for board attorney. He is not a representative of this town

    ReplyDelete
  15. So the organizer is going to make a police complete for someone "hacking" his Social Media. Does he not realize this was still up on his PUBLIC Facebook page as of early this morning?

Ray Coles is aware of at least some of his posts, so is Michael Inzelbuch. The only way they could not be, is if they made a conscious decision not to look.

In my opinion, the people "representing" this town, are self serving...

  16. The march was peaceful in Toms River as well as in most smaller towns and cities. If anything happens or if there is any push back the international media will be turning over every rock to find the fault of those in Lakewood. Do we really want investigative reporters talking to people like Rise Up members that would love to speak their minds? People have been arrested already in other cities after something happened to protesters and after the press investigated.

Let them march and it will be done before we even know it.

    1. I couldn't care less if police investigate. If you are afraid, maybe the issue is with you

      Delete
    2. I wasn't talking about the police. Every city where there was push back on any protest resulted in investigative journalists and reporters digging into those communities. The first people they will talk to are the rise up group that will tell them enough lies that there will be international news about Lakewood for years. It could ruin Lakewood.
