Letter: Reopen Our Mosdos

Let us learn from  other communities in Lakewood. Let us  show government  officials that our children's  chinuch is vital to us and they will find  a way to allow our mosdos to open

  1. ...our children's chinuch is vital to us....
Did you take their health or potential health issues into consideration when penning this letter ???
We don't want to get into a situation where the chinuch is vital but there are......C"V.
Decisions have to be made including even on a remote 'safek' of pikuavh nefashos.
And that is why the schools are still closed for on site classes vs on-line (or conference etc) classes.

    1. You missed the point.

The writer never said that we should ignore health. The writer was saying that there is no health issue ! The kids are playing with each other anyway.

And the writer pointed out that the government may be telling it's for our health, but they are just a bunceh of hypocrits because they are allowing bussing to a demonstration but not to schools.

What will it take for people like you to understand ??

    2. If a kid gets sick at school potentially he can, and probably will (especially if unemployed)sue the school for everything they got plus some.
If he gets sick at home he has no recourse. (the county may take his kids away for being negligent but thats a different story).
Also if there is a chance that your kid will get sick why is he playing with other non related kids ??? Oh. He played and didnt get sick.... Are you a real parent or a lazy parent who lets the children do what they please ????
And om top of that you demand that all kids get potentially sick??
I guess you may be from the "no mask, no shul closing, no school closing, no distancing"club that alive and well in many area in Brooklyn, Rockland and Orange counties....

  2. With all due respect, who is your brother to say "there is no Skanah involved?" is your brother a doctor? a Posek with the ability to pasken on such halachas?

You and your brother have the platzos to disagree with the Frum Medical doctors in Lakewood that still say people have to be careful? That people should still keep social distancing, and everyone in a public place, ie shul and store should wear a mask.

These are the same doctors that you call on shabbos or have hatzalah take you to. But now you don't trust them?

Yes, shuls and schools need to be open. Yes, kids need to be educated.

But the Skanah is still there.

What we need is guidance for rules to keep, and see if everyone in the community can keep the guidelines- which in my personal opinion cannot be followed.

  3. It seems that the steady opening up of Lakewood since Pesach has not caused Armageddon, wo we can rely on that to deem it safe. The frum medical doctors are no more relevant than the mechanics, this is virology, statistics and epidemiology, not their fields.
But the governor needs to take the whole state into account, not just Lakewood. So he cannot open things up for us, and not for others.
I think a solution would be if a compromise could be found. Perhaps private schools could be allowed to make their own decisions. Askanim, with sufficient willpower, should try something.

  4. Sadly the askonim only care about money .
The longer our kids are out of school ,
the longer BMG stays closed ,
The more money the Mosdos receive from Governor Murphy .
Lakewood Is Suffering terribly from these Askonim .

    1. As long as the Askanim care about George Floyd then it's all good.

  6. Amazing how idiots remain idiots.

If - for whatever reason - kids can be biased to a protest, then they can most certainly be biased to learn Torah. Torah learning is at least as important as protests, riots and pogroms.

Alas, idiots choose not to understand what Torah is.

    1. Kids are being bussed to a protest because the liberal minds that run this state and many states have determined that the pursuit of social justice overrides the very real health risks associated with mass gatherings. We have our own metrics with which we decide what overrides what. Assuming you are a frum yid, I don't understand why you insist that we should use the atheistic liberal metrics.

  7. Although I totally agree that the restrictions have been enforced inconsistently and there is a double standard in the way we are being treated, I do not agree that it's so poshut that schools should open up. I would love it to happen as much as anyone. But look at E"Y! As soon as the schools opened up, the cases went way up. Do we want that to happen here? How can we open up safely? People just don't listen to the rules.

  8. you do realize that the BOE never said how many children will be put on each bus. Its quite possible that they will put 10 on each bus with masks and all the windows open. That's not dangerous.

Jays is not the BOE they cant lose money on every run. Do the math. You would have to pay $200/month/child in order for them to be bussed. That's more than most people can afford.

Also outdoors is so different from indoors, so please don't compare

  9. Directing frustration at the Governor and the Health Professionals who guide the decisions are pointless. They did not create this virus and they are charged with keeping the residents of NJ safe and healthy. If they appear to be lax in allowing a protest that will have little, if any, social distancing, it just reflects their low opinion of the discretion and decision making abilities of the leaders of the rabble. It would behoove educated and intelligent like anas'h to be extra scrupulous in maintaining our health , especially having witnessed the casualties of covid-19. You know, like the moshol of the doctor who sees two patients. He prescribes a very strict health regimen to one and tells the other that he can eat what he likes and do whatever else he fancies.Naturally, patient one is up in arms! He is restricted to eating vegetables while patient two is gorging himself on rib steaks. Says the doctor: Mein tyere kind, patient 2 is terminally ill. There is nothing medicine or diet can do for him at this late point. So let him enjoy what is left of his life. But you, patient one, you can reclaim your health if you follow the prescription for a balanced diet and healthy routine. So hameivin yovin. It is a sign of sincerely caring for your welfare that the restrictions are still in place. Si geit zei nisht on far di andere. They are the patients who can do whatever they feel like...
