- LSTA: It has been speculated that Governor Sherrill is out to get Lakewood as a form of revenge for the community’s rejection of her as a gubernatorial candidate. The community voted overwhelmingly against her both in the Democratic primary and in the general election, and some prominent local advocacy groups strongly endorsed her opponents both times. During the primary, some activists urged everyone to become a “Democrat for a day” and vote for Josh Gottheimer, who had no chance of winning. Many believe that this angered Sherrill, and her vindictive actions are a result of that. Mayor Coles says, “I can’t say that for sure. All I can say is that we worked well with the state government for years until this year.”(Lakewood shopper)

Kol Koreh in shuls against 24six, emphasizing that someone needs to be willing to take responsibility, and that even if you would have a "kosher" device it is still very detrimental for our children's chinuch.
ReplyDeleteWhat’s detrimental about it?
DeletePeople listen to kol korehs still? lol
Go ask your Rov and be done with it. Don’t let others tell you what you should be thinking.
9:46
Deleteisn't your post oxymoronic?
Do you even hear yourself?
DeleteIt was. You should be thinking, so ask your rav?
Delete9:46 here
DeleteNo because instead of getting “daas torah” from a flyer on a wall you can think about it and ask your Rov and have a conversation.
Or, knowing your child, and having been blessed with a brain, you can be a "big boy" and decide for yourself.
DeleteIt’s funny as litvaks- let’s use our heads. Look into the matter and discuss it don’t just throw away everything

Bushah, many Yungerlite wives go to the Christian Georgian Court College RL
ReplyDeleteEh. Big deal.
DeleteIf it saves them from the bushah of taking food stamps, it's worth it.
Delete24 6 is a great app. should we go back to cds and tapes?
ReplyDeleteYes, it's an addictive time waster and has podcasts with dangerous hashkafos
DeleteIs it better than spotify? Please explain.
DeleteThis site has more dangerous hashkafos than 24/6.
Deleteis torah anytime acceptable? it has shiurim from people who have different hashkafos than you
ReplyDeletethe hero netanyahi literally said he will put the olam hatorah in jail, I urge all the rebbes, admorim, roshei yeshivas to meet Trump and have him to put Huckabee as the acting governor over Eretz Yisroel as he told the gadol hador reb Hirsch he values Torah, Maduro and Netanyahi can spend time together in Brooklyn.
ReplyDeleteNeither Satmar Rebbi had a problem when NY police stormed their Bais Medrash to break up the brawls and arrest their opponents.
DeleteNo he didn’t. He said that chareidim who DONT learn Torah will go to jail. That’s a massive difference. Why should I as a donor want to support a kollel or yeshiva of 1000 talmidim when 200 aren’t in the Beis Midrash. I think all will agree that it would be reasonable to only want to support the 800. So all he’s saying is that if you don’t attend then we won’t treat you as a chareidi. Fair enough
DeleteBibi tried to protect the charedim. He risked his position& kicked Lapid out of his gov't a decade ago.The charedi obstinance are dragging him dowm
DeleteHe said "anyone who says נמות ולא נגייס belongs in jail"
Deleteso?
Deletesaying silly things-specially if you aren't really going to carry through- brings public slamming
DeleteIt has very bad songs on it beware
ReplyDeletecan they Trump to force Bibi to stop the arrests?
ReplyDeleteyes, we can put Huckabee as the governor of the Zionists and have it like Puerto Rico under American control, better than the shmad of closing yeshivas, imprisoning the Olam Hatorah for the crime of learning like Stalin did, better a Akum who values Torah than the Zionists Attorney General.
DeleteA heartfelt hesped delivered by Rav Michoel Sorotzkin at the levayah of Horav Hatzaddik Rav Yehoshua Safrin, zt”l, the Komarna Rebbe of Manhattan.
ReplyDeleteA distinguished talmid chacham in Nigleh and Nistar, a scion of an illustrious geza tarshishim, and a remarkable baal chesed, Rav Yehoshua, zt”l, was beloved for his noble middos, humility, and boundless devotion to others.

I hope they dont bring up Israel issue with Trump. There are enough local USA issues that are affecting the oilam here.
ReplyDeleteI really hope they don't bring up the issue of minyanim with daylight savings time.
ReplyDeleteIt's enough to say that it's dangerous for children waiting for the bus in the dark, and that it was attempted many years ago, and stopped in the middle.
Otherwise it sounds awfully strange to expect the entire country to worry about minyan for a comparatively tiny number of citizens. In fact, I think it's a Chillul Hashem.
What happened to Yaakov Ovinu's advice not to make ourselves conspicuous?
While I agree with you about this, why is Agudah wasting political capital on this issue?
DeleteOr are they just preaching to members (yidden) (more donations) ?
There's a famous story how the Satmar Rav z"l met with VP (and presidential candidate) Hubert Humphrey. HHH was told not bring up Israel. When Rav Yoel brought it up, he said lets not discuss that, Rav Yoel immediately told him our fights with them is something else, your job is to support Israel.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope they do bring up the issue of year round daylight savings time and the effect on this who Daven. Be honest and you will be respected. Beat around the bush and say it's dangerous for kids to wait on the dark and everyone knows you are disingenuous.
ReplyDeleteBetter Governor S don't make a public comment. If she does, she'll pull a Mandami and support the murderers.
ReplyDelete(Even though she know the NJ electorate would oppose it.)
Besides late minyanim is not an issue for Satmar chassidim.
ReplyDeleteThank you HV for reporting that PM Netanyahu said that “Charedim who don't learn Torah, will be drafted into the military or will go to jail.”
ReplyDeleteTrigger alert to the guy that always posts about “the Zionist.” You might want to stop reading now.
Correct me if I’m wrong: Bibi’s viewpoint was the position of All the gedolei Rosh Hayeshivios in Benei Brak the past 40 years (before the revisionist came around).
If a bochur wasn’t learning it was no busha if he drafted.
Why should he be dreying himself in Tel Aviv?
Think about the quote from PM Netanyahu Chareidim who don’t learn Torah should be drafted.
What is wrong with that? He is not learning Torah
Looking forward to a respectful discussion
Absolutely true. And the Army then was much worse than it is today. The oft repeated line that everyone who goes to the Army loses their Yiddishkeit is an absolute lie.
ReplyDeleteWe've become Satmar. Hope we don't stop talking to our brother!
To be fair that's not exactly what their position was. They didn't want people claiming they are learning since when they get caught they damage everybody. But one thing is for sure they didn't want the government getting involved and who is learning and who is not. Even if you believe everybody should go like dati you still don't want the government being involved
ReplyDeleteOf course, it would be better for the government nor to be involved. But their letters decried the fact that people not learning were misrepresenting. That's even more likely today
Deletechardal soldiers are beong jailed for refusing to serve in tanks with women welcome to the club
ReplyDeleteunfortunately that righteous crowd are treated worse than charedim
DeleteAnon 8:08
ReplyDeleteIf you think that society in general is worse than today, you're living in a cave and you should probably get out and get some sunlight.
Kosher food and minyan times is the smallest issue facing frum soldiers, there are much bigger problems
Although there were serious problems then, & serious problems now, the enormous Difference is attitude.
DeleteBen Gurion stated "better a NK'nik in yerushalayim than 10 tzionim in Chicago. Nowadays the new attitude being promulgated is: better a non-jew who serves in some cheap IDF job & then returns home, than a fully religious jew in Israel who won't serve.
So while there were always anti-religious-albeit relatively staid in morals cf. Amos Elon's Sabra-elements eg palmach then as well,
It was taken for granted that that situation would take care of itself/would be taken care of before we hit the 21th century. Well, here we are.
This also includes smug pervasive attitude towards national religion, direction of collective propriety, & morals [though some responsibility arguably goes both ways.]
Better they stayed in Chicago or England than moving to Bet Shemesh
DeleteMajor promoters of these new attitudes are dati Anglos
