The unpaid tuition balances are a quiet crisis in Lakewood that isn't getting nearly as much attention as it should. Schools are collapsing under the weight of the unpaid tuition, but at the same time, the families with unpaid balances are genuinely unable to pay up. With just three days to go until boys start their school year and two weeks until girls start theirs, many families literally have no idea whether their children will be able to continue to attend school this year.
