DeleteLakewood youngeleit sit in traffic too should they also get Teslas
ReplyDeleteAdirei Tortah w ill provide.
DeleteFor BMG only, not chaim berlin. (let them get it on their own.)
What version of Tesla is self driving AND allows you to ignore the road? Tesla warns you not to.
ReplyDeleteSo it's not there yet. It will be pretty soon. Point still stands.
DeleteIf you're teaching someone how to drive and you have a break on your side - who is putting in more effort the teacher or the driver?
DeleteIf I was teaching someone how to drive I would be paying a LOT more attention to what is going on than if I were driving myself.
DeleteR shach didn't want even the chinuch atzmai to accept more than 40 percent from the government, so the "rov" money we'll have to be raised and will never be mostly dependent on government funding. So that if they make demands we would just let it go.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the yahareg val yaavor, it's not really so, many are having a hard time and trying to comfort all kinds of compromises to continue the funding and willing to sacrifice different percentages to attend the army so they definitely have a lot of sway with the money provided.
The very idea that money is an optional thing in life, and we should refuse it without discussing the consequences, is a Satmarer mistake.
ReplyDeleteKeeping a Yeshiva system open in Eretz Yisroel means government money. There would have been no Chinuch Atzmai without the government, there will be no Yeshivos there for too long if these draconian decrees continue.
If compromise is necessary, it's not 'compromise for money', it is 'compromise for the continuation of the Yeshiva'.
Volozhin allowed some limudei chol to stay open. Doing the same for money is no different.
That follows a very common train of thought everything is negotiable as long as it's for Torah. You can say that it's okay to take money but to take money as a compromise what exactly are you giving up? At some point yes you need to give up on Torah.
DeleteIt's a satmer brisker chofetz chaim and others "mistake". They "mistakenly" held that not everything in Judaism is negotiable
Delete4:18
DeleteThe dati fully hold like you too. With even more highfalutin compromised titles. How about joining them completely?
1:33
Well put
Who said 'everything is negotiable'? Nobody claimed that at all.
DeleteJust that money isn't a bad thing, and we do certain things for money. Because money means the Yeshiva can stay open, it isn't just a pile of colored papers. It's not vacation money, apartments for their einiklach, or new hats.
When used correctly, money is a כלי שרת.
When not, it is a קוץ ממאיר.
In regards to Shisha Sidrei Mishna: Rav Moshe Shternbauch disagrees with Rav Ribner. He also agrees that there should be one Misechta well
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean? Does Rav Moshe Shternbuch agree or disagree?
DeleteHe supports and encourages the idea of kids learning all of Mishnayos, but encourages that one mesachta should be learnt really well.
DeleteThese Teslas with FSD crash all the time. Most notably, Kyle Shanahan just got into a bad crash. About a month ago, a young fellow was killed in an accident while on FSD.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that Musk is best friends with Trump doesn’t make them safer. If anything, it raises even more questions about whether there’s enough oversight.
Cars with human drivers crash all the time too. Just recently Kyle Thompson got into a bad crash. Kyle Johnson too. They were killed in accidents while on Full Human Driver.
DeleteI know a frum person who crashed on the Garden State Parkway when he was relying on the Tesla self driving feature. Please don't do it!
ReplyDeleteSo there's nothing wrong for dignified, distinguished individual to run after latest styles and trends??Really??
ReplyDeleteIt isn't the latest styles and trends. It is a specific convenience that whenever it does come out will enable people to make better use of their time. Rav Ahron Kotler at first did not want to have air conditioning in the BMG Beis Medrash because no other Yeshivas did and air conditioning was looked at as a rich mans luxury. But in the end he did so anyway because it would help people learn better. This is the same idea
