Updated: Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced today that the victim of a homicide that occurred in Lakewood on Friday, June 21, 2019, has been identified as Eric Galarza, age 36, of Lakewood.
Lakewood Township Police Officers found Galarza suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at a Lakewood residence. Galarza was transported to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus where he was pronounced dead.
This is an active and ongoing investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Lakewood Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.

The shooting was reported at about 10:30 p.m. Friday, a news release from Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. It happened at a residence on Lucy Road, according to an Asbury Park Press report.

Crime Unit and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to the residence. The victim was transported to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus where he was pronounced dead.
