Message from Ocean County Prosecutor about The Facebook Page

This was posted on Facebook by the OCPO following a press release that illicited hateful vile and anti-Semitic comments.

 A MESSAGE FROM OCEAN COUNTY PROSECUTOR BRADLEY D. BILLHIMER: This seems to be an appropriate moment in our county to engage in a thoughtful discussion on the importance of mutual respect and tolerance. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Facebook page is intended as a place for this Office to release information to the public and the press. While we value the opinions and constructive criticism of our followers, there is no room for hate and prejudice. Our differences in race, color, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation,
gender identity or expression and national origin should not make us enemies. Tolerance and understanding will take us farther, together, than division and disrespect. We can all coexist in our communities, side by side. Treating each other with respect, kindness and understanding will benefit our families, communities and our county. Under my leadership, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office will stand up every day to protect the safety, security and quality of life of all the people here in Ocean County.
