Israel at war day 663
- Trump: Wow! Canada has just announced that it is backing statehood for Palestine. That will make it very hard for us to make a Trade Deal with them. Oh’ Canada!!!
- Prime Minister of Canada: We will recognize a Palestinian state at the UN Assembly in September—subject to the Palestinian Authority's commitment to implement significant reforms
- Senior Israeli officials: Israel sets an ultimatum for Hamas- either a positive response in the coming days towards an agreement or the start of Gaza perimeter annexation
- Hamas sent a message to the mediators—we will return to negotiations only when the situation in Gaza improves, according to 2 sources...
- White House envoy Witkoff will fly to Israel today to discuss the hostage deal and the Gaza situation
- Ahead of Witkoff's visit: heavy pressure from Israel on the US to demand that Qatar expel the external Hamas leadership from its territory. The goal: to create a credible threat to the lives of Khalil al-Hayya and his associates
- A drone launched at Israel by the Houthis in Yemen was intercepted by the Israeli Air Force a short while ago, the military says.
- Israeli Cabinet member and Finance Minister Smotrich: "There is a significant chance that Hezbollah will be completely disarmed. Even Khamenei has given up on Hezbollah and is completely indifferent to whether it will be restored or not.”
- Report on the Qatari Al-Arabi channel: The mediators today handed Hams the Israeli reservations regarding the terrorist organization's response:
- Israel opposed several points of redeployment and withdrawal from the Gaza Strip
- Israel refused the principle of handing over Israeli casualties in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners
- Israel adhered to its refusal to withdraw from the Philadelphi corridor
- After the NYT retracted its lie about a Gazan child with a muscular disease, pro-Hamas radicals vandalized their Manhattan building.
Every Canadian election for past few decades veered back and forth between Conservatives and Liberals.
ReplyDeleteAnd support for Israel or hatred for Israel.
Some European countries too to varying degrees.
Past few US elections too.
Another reason to have supported the (what are called) Far Right. In France for example, not in Germany.
Agree in context, but shows ignorance eg re: Canada this present version of the Canada's Conservative party only started in 2003. For a decade before that the main opposition parties were the [more conservative] Reform party, & the separatist Bloc Q party.
Delete2011-2015, the NDP was the main opposition to Harper while the Libs fell to third- though the media & Ottawa establishment still treated the Libs like the leading & virtual governing party.
The separatist (and French-speaking only) Quebec party is now part of Liberal Party which toned down the separatism. But didn't tone down the antisemitism.
ReplyDeleteConservatives were very strong pro-Israel, were considering moving their embassy to Yerushalayim but had same problem as US State Dept which was too entrenched, and opposed (and antisemitic.). Voted pro Israel in UN Security Council against President Obama, but had no veto.
"The separatist (and French-speaking only) Quebec party is now part of Liberal Party which toned down the separatism."
DeleteEh?Qu'est-ce que cela est censé vouloir dire ?
